The call

ClassIn still has thousands of schools locked into its workflow, but no fresh cash, no shipped AI answer, and free AI tools from Google are closing the gap fast.

ClassIn helps teachers and schools run live classes online, similar to Zoom but built for education. It is getting easier to replace because Google added free AI tools to its Classroom product in mid-2025, Zoom is adding classroom features, and new AI programs can now grade and tutor students automatically, which were ClassIn's main jobs. The company has not raised money since 2020, its revenue is shrinking, and it has not yet released its own AI tutoring tool, so the picture could flip only if ClassIn gets new funding, keeps its paying schools from leaving, and launches a working AI tutor within the next year.

Why
01
AI pressure: Google Gemini in Classroom, free tutoring/grading tools. Google gave schools free AI grading and tutoring inside Classroom, cutting the reason to pay for ClassIn's live-class tools. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: Google Classroom and Zoom. Zoom keeps adding education features and Google's free AI bundle both sit closer to where schools already are than ClassIn does. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Around 20,000 institutions have built lesson plans and workflows inside ClassIn, and switching costs slow their exit even as they grumble.
What would change this call

Disclosed, audited revenue figures from corporate/adult-learning deals (e.g. Singapore IAL, Mengniu). Would confirm the pivot beyond China K-12 is generating real, not just announced, revenue.
