The call

Coasty sits between a model layer absorbing its general API and an incumbent chasing its healthcare niche, with no built defense yet on either side.

Coasty built a computer-use API and a healthcare billing automation tool, but is squished between much larger forces. Claude Cowork, OpenAI's Operator, and ByteDance's Seed 2.1 are already selling general computer-use AI cheaper and better, so that part of the business is losing to the big labs. The healthcare piece could matter, but it has no signed customers, no proven compliance certifications, and no sales team yet, while UiPath (a giant automation company that already works inside hospitals and has healthcare credentials) just announced its own AI agents for healthcare billing in March 2026. Coasty's only real shot is to go all-in on healthcare, lock in customers fast, and prove it works before UiPath's existing relationships close the door, but that window is probably only about 18 months open.

Why
01
AI pressure: Anthropic Claude Cowork, OpenAI Operator, ByteDance Seed 2.1. Frontier labs now bundle computer-use agents into subscriptions, undercutting a standalone API on price and distribution. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: UiPath. UiPath has $1.85B ARR, HITRUST certification, and installed healthcare accounts, and announced agentic healthcare tools in March 2026. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. None apparent: no disclosed enterprise contracts, certifications, or healthcare go-to-market hire to defend the vertical wedge.
What would change this call
UiPath announces named healthcare-agentic customer wins or expands March 2026 offering. Shows incumbent closing the vertical window Coasty needs to exploit.
Coasty discloses a signed enterprise healthcare contract or HITRUST/SOC 2 certification. Would show Coasty actually building the vertical moat, not just claiming it.
Anthropic, OpenAI, or ByteDance add BAA-covered computer-use agents to standard subscriptions. Would show the horizontal API layer being fully commoditized under Coasty.
Key numbers
  • UiPath ARR: $1.85B (2026)
  • ByteDance Seed 2.1: ~78.8% OSWorld, 80% cheaper (June 2026)
  • Coasty team size: 2 people (2026-07-27)
Named risks
  • Frontier labs bundling free computer-use agents into subscriptions could commoditize Coasty's core API. Severity: high
  • UiPath's installed base, HITRUST certification, and March 2026 healthcare-agentic launch could close Coasty's vertical window before it builds compliance credentials. Severity: high
  • All traction, benchmark, and customer claims are vendor-self-reported with zero disclosed enterprise contracts or third-party verification. Severity: medium
  • Two-person team with no disclosed funding round faces execution risk building both compliance and healthcare GTM simultaneously. Severity: medium

Questions people ask
Is Coasty profitable?
No profitability figures are disclosed. Coasty is a 2-person YC Summer 2026 startup with no public revenue, ARR, or funding round reported as of July 2026; only vendor-claimed user growth figures exist.
Could AI replace Coasty's product?
Yes, this is the central risk: Anthropic's Claude Cowork (bundled into Pro/Max since March 2026), OpenAI's Operator, and ByteDance's Seed 2.1 Pro (June 24, 2026, ~80% cheaper) already offer native computer-use, threatening to commoditize Coasty's core API layer.
Who is Coasty's biggest competitor?
UiPath, an RPA incumbent with $1.853 billion ARR and $481 million Q4 FY2026 revenue reported March 11, 2026, announced healthcare-specific agentic automation in March 2026, targeting the same revenue-cycle buyers Coasty is pursuing.
Who owns Coasty?
Coasty is privately founder-owned by Nitish Kovuru and Prateek Jannu, part of Y Combinator's Summer 2026 (S26) batch, based in San Francisco; no outside VC funding round has been publicly disclosed as of July 2026.
Has Coasty laid off any staff?
No layoffs are reported or applicable; Coasty is a newly launched 2-person YC S26 startup as of July 2026 with no prior larger headcount to reduce.
Does Coasty have healthcare industry certifications like HITRUST?
No HITRUST or SOC 2 Type II certification for Coasty has been disclosed as of July 27, 2026, while incumbent UiPath's Automation Cloud already holds HITRUST risk-based certification since August 23, 2023.
