Delinea
Delinea sells privileged access management software to control who and what can reach sensitive systems.
Delinea's customers are locked in tight, but its growth has stalled right as Palo Alto Networks moves to swallow its biggest rival.
Delinea sells software that controls who can access servers and databases at banks, government agencies, and hospitals, work that is hard to tear out once installed because customers depend on it for security and compliance. Right now, Palo Alto Networks is buying CyberArk, a similar company, for $25 billion, and plans to bundle everything together into one giant security product to sell to enterprises; if that deal closes, Delinea will face much tougher competition from a much larger company with more money to spend. Delinea's own revenue has flatlined for months even though it bought three smaller companies recently, so the real question is whether those purchases add enough new features and customers to start the growth engine again by late 2026.
Regulatory decision on Palo Alto Networks' ~$25B CyberArk acquisition. Deal closing lets PANW bundle against Delinea; a block or delay gives Delinea more time.
Public case studies or customer counts showing StrongDM cross-sell into Delinea's base by end of 2026. Would show whether the AI-agent access acquisition is driving real revenue or sitting unintegrated.
- ARR flat near $400M, Aug 2025 to Mar 2026
- 95% of GAAP revenue is recurring
- Palo Alto's CyberArk deal valued at ~$25B
- ARR has been flat around $400M from August 2025 through March 2026.
- Palo Alto Networks-CyberArk deal, announced Feb 2026, could bundle against Delinea if it closes.
- Unproven cross-sell integration of Fastpath, Authomize, and StrongDM acquisitions.
- Multiple CVEs disclosed in Delinea Cloud Suite and Secret Server in 2025-2026.
- No new outside equity round since 2021 merger financing, limiting growth capital.

- Is Delinea profitable in 2026?
- Delinea is privately held and does not disclose net profit. It reports 95% recurring revenue and roughly $400 million in annual recurring revenue as of August 12, 2025, with that same ARR figure still cited in March 2026, suggesting flat growth rather than disclosed profitability.
- Who owns Delinea?
- Delinea is private equity backed. It formed in April 2021 when TPG Capital merged Thycotic and Centrify, with Thoma Bravo, Insight Partners, and PSP Investments also holding minority stakes. No new outside equity round has been reported since that 2021 merger financing.
- Is CyberArk or Palo Alto Networks Delinea's biggest competitor?
- Both. CyberArk is the long-standing PAM market leader, but Palo Alto Networks announced a roughly $25 billion acquisition of CyberArk in February 2026, pending regulatory approval, which would combine Delinea's two biggest rivals into one bundled platform threat.
- Could AI replace Delinea's PAM software?
- Unlikely soon. Privileged access management is compliance and workflow driven, and Delinea is embedding AI itself via Iris AI and Iris Auditing (2025) rather than being displaced by outside AI tools. Its FedRAMP High authorization (announced July 8, 2026) reflects a regulatory moat AI alone can't replicate.
- Is Delinea's growth stalling?
- Delinea's ARR surpassed $400 million by August 12, 2025, and was still described as 'about $400 million' in a March 6, 2026 report, indicating roughly flat ARR for over half a year even as it closed the StrongDM acquisition on March 5, 2026.
- Did Delinea acquire StrongDM?
- Yes. Delinea signed a definitive agreement to acquire StrongDM on January 15, 2026, and closed the deal on March 5, 2026, adding just-in-time runtime authorization aimed at securing AI agent and DevOps access alongside its existing PAM platform.
