The call

Duda's embedded partner deals give it real staying power, while Wix Studio and AI site-generation tools press on the agency business those deals were built to protect.

Duda makes website-building software for two kinds of customers: agencies that resell it to their clients, and software companies like Thryv that offer it as part of a larger product. The company has a real advantage because these customers are locked in through custom workflows and integrations. However, Wix just launched Wix Studio as a direct competitor for those same agencies, and AI tools like Lovable and v0 can now build basic websites with just text descriptions, which does some of what Duda charges for. The biggest question is whether Duda's strength in selling through other software companies will hold steady, or whether those partners will switch to Wix Studio instead.

Why
01
AI pressure: Vibe-coding tools (Lovable, v0, Bolt, Replit Agent). These tools now do the site-assembly work Duda used to charge for, forcing Duda to launch its own Vibe feature to keep pace. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: Wix Studio. Wix Studio is live and marketed straight at Duda's agency buyer, the same segment Duda built its business on. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Its site-building engine is embedded inside partner products like Thryv, Hibu, IONOS and UOL, so switching means those partners rebuild their own platforms.
What would change this call
Duda discloses a new funding round or acquisition after 5 years of silence. Would show whether capital markets still back Duda's model.
Duda Vibe reaches general availability and agencies publicly adopt it over Lovable/v0/Bolt. Would show Duda can defend against standalone AI site-builders.
Thryv, Hibu, IONOS, or UOL drop Duda or switch to Wix Studio/another OEM engine. Would show the embedded-distribution moat is cracking.

Questions people ask
Is Duda profitable in 2026?
Duda has not disclosed audited financials. Third-party estimator Latka pegs 2024 ARR at roughly $41.2M (estimated, unconfirmed), up from an estimated $14.2M in 2023. No profitability figures have ever been made public, and no funding round has been disclosed since June 2021.
Could AI replace Duda's core product?
Duda's core manual site-building labor (templates, copy, alt-text, SEO metadata) is already partly automated by its own AI Assistant and rivals like Wix ADI. Duda launched 'Duda Vibe' on July 15, 2026, explicitly benchmarked against stand-alone vibe-coding tools like Lovable and v0, signaling a catch-up posture rather than a lead.
Who is Duda's biggest competitor?
Wix Studio, launched by Wix and explicitly positioned to compete for Duda's agency buyers, is Duda's most direct rival as of 2026. Squarespace, taken private by Permira in a $6.9-7.2 billion all-cash deal completed October 17, 2024, also looms with far greater capital resources.
Has Duda raised any funding recently?
Duda's most recent disclosed funding is a $50 million Series D in June 2021 led by Claridge Israel, bringing total raised to $100 million. No new round has been publicly disclosed since, roughly five years as of mid-2026, with no valuation ever made public.
What is Duda Vibe?
Duda Vibe is a conversational, agentic AI site and web-app generation tool launched in beta on July 15, 2026, letting agencies build sites via chat-style prompts and a Custom Widget Generator. Duda itself warns beta output 'may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading' under its AI Vibe legal terms.
Who owns Duda?
Duda is privately held and not publicly traded, backed by investors including Susquehanna Growth Equity, Vintage Investment Partners, Claridge Israel, and Lion (formerly Pitango), with $100 million total raised as of its June 2021 Series D. No IPO filing exists as of mid-2026.
