The call

A small, aging hosting business with thinning margins is trying to go public just as bigger cloud players and an AI-native rival scale up around it in Malaysia.

Gigabit runs data centers in Malaysia and rents space to companies, but it is getting squeezed hard. Bigger players like Google Cloud, Equinix, and a new rival called VCI Global (which just launched AI computer rental) have way more money, better technology, and can offer lower prices. Gigabit's profits are shrinking every year, and its planned stock sale has been stuck for over a year, which shows investors do not believe in it. The one thing that could save it is if it finds a way to offer AI computing power like VCI Global does, or if its delayed stock listing actually happens and money comes in to fund a turnaround.

Why
01
AI pressure: VCI Global's VGAIN Cloud (sovereign AI GPU platform, NVIDIA Blackwell). VGAIN Cloud launched July 2026 giving Malaysian customers sovereign AI GPU capacity Gigabit's plain hosting and colocation cannot offer. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: Google Cloud ($2B Malaysia commitment), Equinix, Telekom Malaysia. Google Cloud, Equinix, and Telekom Malaysia are pouring billions into regional data center capacity that dwarfs Gigabit's footprint. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Two decades of relationships in banking, telecom, oil and gas, and higher education that make switching colocation providers slow and risky.
What would change this call
Gigabit's stalled F-1 IPO either prices and trades or lapses by end of 2026. Shows whether public markets see any viable value in Gigabit's business.
Gigabit announces a GPU or AI-cloud offering to answer VCI Global's July 2026 VGAIN Cloud launch. Would show whether Gigabit can defend its market against AI-native competition.
Gigabit's next reported EBIT margin, currently 4.7 percent, either stabilizes or falls further. Indicates whether pricing pressure from larger data center operators is easing or worsening.

Questions people ask
Is Gigabit Inc (GBH) profitable?
Yes but weakening. For the trailing twelve months ended June 30, 2025, Gigabit reported net income of $414,198, down 39.1% year over year, with EBIT margin collapsing from 17.6% to 4.7% over the prior three years, per stockanalysis.com filings data.
Has Gigabit's NASDAQ IPO actually happened yet?
No. Gigabit filed its F-1 on October 24, 2025 to raise up to $5.0 million at $4.00 per share under ticker GBH, but as of July 9, 2026, nine-plus months later, it had still not priced or begun trading on NASDAQ.
Who owns Gigabit Inc and who runs it?
Gigabit Inc is a Cayman Islands holding company for Malaysia-based TheGigabit (Gigabit Hosting Sdn Bhd), founded in 2003. No institutional VC or private equity ownership was found; it appears founder-owned pre-IPO. CEO is listed as Teoh Paik Yau as of July 2026.
Could AI replace Gigabit's hosting and managed IT services?
Gigabit's core commodity offerings, shared and VPS web hosting and managed IT helpdesk support, are highly substitutable by AI-driven self-service and hyperscaler automation. Its EBIT margin already fell from 17.6% to 4.7% over three years ended June 30, 2025, consistent with commoditization pressure.
Who is Gigabit's biggest competitive threat right now?
VCI Global (NASDAQ: VCIG) launched VGAIN Cloud on July 23, 2026, a sovereign AI cloud and GPU platform in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur using NVIDIA Blackwell-class chips, a direct AI-infrastructure move in Gigabit's own Malaysian market that Gigabit has not matched.
What is Gigabit's revenue and how fast is it growing?
Gigabit's trailing twelve month revenue was $12.54 million for the period ended June 30, 2025, up 5.4% year over year, roughly flat with prior years ($11.94M and $12.59M), while profitability margins have declined sharply over the same span.
