The call

Gumloop has funding and name-brand customers but sits in a crowded room where Zapier, n8n, and Anthropic itself all now sell similar agent-building tools.

Gumloop lets companies automate tasks by connecting apps and AI without writing code. The problem: Zapier and n8n are much larger and already added similar AI features, while Anthropic (the company behind Claude) built their own no-code agent tool directly into their product, which is harder to compete against. The one thing that could matter is Gumloop's new audit and safety layer called Gumstack, but only if companies want to use it to monitor their AI tools even when they are not using Gumloop itself, which would prove it solves a real problem that nobody else is solving well enough.

Why
01
AI pressure: Anthropic Claude Cowork. Anthropic ships its own no-code agent builder, letting model owner compete directly with the layer sitting on top of it. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: Zapier and n8n. Zapier (~$140M ARR) and n8n ($2.5B valuation, 70+ AI nodes) have both shipped AI-agent features in Gumloop's exact lane. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Named enterprise accounts like Shopify, Ramp, and Gusto plus workflows already wired into their systems, hard to rip out casually.
What would change this call
Gumstack reports paying customers governing Claude/ChatGPT/Cursor usage outside Gumloop's core product. Would show Gumloop has a real differentiator beyond the crowded workflow-builder space.
Any named account (Shopify, Ramp, Gusto, Samsara, Instacart, Opendoor, Rippling) publicly adopts Claude Cowork, n8n, or Zapier AI agents instead. Would show Gumloop losing enterprise customers to model-vendor or incumbent automation rivals.
Gumloop discloses revenue growth or headcount figures a year after the Series B. Would show whether post-funding scaling is outpacing or lagging behind cash burn.
Key numbers
  • $50M Series B led by Benchmark (2026-03-12)
  • Total funding raised: ~$70.6M (2026-07-30)
  • Revenue described as 'several million a year' by founder (2026-06-22)
Named risks
  • Revenue in the several-millions against $70.6M raised and rapid post-Series B hiring. Severity: high
  • Two better-funded rivals (Zapier, n8n) and a frontier lab (Anthropic) shipping overlapping AI-agent features simultaneously. Severity: high
  • Core team scaled from about 9 to as many as 49 employees within months, straining a deliberately lean culture. Severity: medium
  • New credit-based pricing (March 2026) is a live source of customer friction per third-party reviews. Severity: medium
  • Conflicting revenue and headcount figures across sources signal weak external verification. Severity: low

Questions people ask
Is Gumloop profitable in 2026?
No. Founder Max Brodeur-Urbas said in June 2026 revenue was 'up to several million a year' against a total of about $70.6M raised through a March 2026 $50M Series B, meaning burn far outpaces reported revenue.
Who are Gumloop's biggest competitors?
Zapier (reportedly ~$140M ARR, ~$5B valuation per founder Wade Foster) and n8n ($2.5B valuation after a $180M Series C, June 2026) both shipped competing AI-agent features, while Anthropic's Claude Cowork threatens the no-code layer directly, per TechCrunch, March 2026.
Could AI replace Gumloop's product?
Possibly. TechCrunch flagged Anthropic's Claude Cowork, a native no-code agent builder, as a direct threat to Gumloop's core canvas-building layer as of March 2026, since foundation models are absorbing the exact workflow-building function Gumloop sells.
How much money has Gumloop raised total?
About $70.6M as of July 2026, per CB Insights, across a $500K seed (2024), $3.1M seed (July 2024, First Round Capital), $17M Series A (January 2025), and a $50M Series B led by Benchmark (March 12, 2026).
What is Gumstack and why does it matter for Gumloop?
Gumstack, launched with Gumloop's March 2026 Series B, is an enterprise AI security and audit layer that logs tool calls across Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Gumloop itself. It is Gumloop's main unproven differentiator against Zapier, n8n, and model vendors.
Who owns Gumloop and who leads its board?
Gumloop is privately held, founded in 2023 by Max Brodeur-Urbas and Rahul Behal in Vancouver. Benchmark, via partner Everett Randle (his first deal after joining in October 2025), led the $50M Series B announced March 12, 2026.
