Losing its protection

The structural protection is eroding.

The call

HeyClicky packages capabilities Anthropic, OpenAI, and Apple already own or are building natively, leaving viral distribution as its main asset.

HeyClicky lets you tell an AI to perform tasks on your computer screen by combining existing AI services (Claude, voice, and audio tools). The problem is that Apple, OpenAI, and Anthropic are already shipping these same screen-control abilities built directly into their own products or operating systems. The founder has real reach on social media, but that cannot stop bigger companies from adding this feature to their platforms if they want to. The one thing that could matter: if Apple adds free, built-in screen awareness to its operating system in late 2026, or if OpenAI or Anthropic release their own easy-to-use desktop app (not just code for developers), HeyClicky's reason to exist disappears.

Why
01
AI pressure: Anthropic Computer Use and OpenAI Operator. Anthropic and OpenAI already ship the screen-control tech HeyClicky wraps; a native consumer app from either removes its reason to exist. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: Apple (Apple Intelligence). Apple could fold screen-aware task execution into macOS for free, closing the gap HeyClicky's app currently fills. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Farza's viral following and fast shipping give it a head start, but no lock-in, integrations, or stored data back that up.
What would change this call
Apple ships native screen-aware Siri/Apple Intelligence actions in its next public release. Would show OS-level free equivalent erasing HeyClicky's core differentiator.
Anthropic or OpenAI packages Computer Use or Operator as a native desktop consumer app within 12-18 months. Would show the model labs commoditizing the exact capability HeyClicky wraps.
HeyClicky publishes or leaks verified 90-day retention or paid-conversion data. Would show whether real usage lock-in exists beyond the viral launch spike.

  • Launch demo video hit about 3M views (2026-06-09)
  • Company claims 25,000+ users, unverified (2026-06-15)
Named risks
  • No proprietary model or data moat; core feature reproducible by any lab shipping Computer Use/Operator natively. Severity: high
  • Apple, OpenAI, or Anthropic could ship a free OS-native screen-aware assistant within 12-18 months, collapsing differentiation. Severity: high
  • Founder Farza Majeed shut down prior $10M-backed startup Buildspace in August 2024, raising execution-durability concerns. Severity: medium
  • Screen-capturing AI overlay category faces enterprise security bans and privacy scrutiny, exemplified by rival Cluely. Severity: medium
  • Only $500K raised as of May 2026 with unconfirmed revenue, limiting runway against better-funded rivals like Cluely. Severity: medium

Questions people ask
Is HeyClicky profitable in 2026?
No profitability data exists. CB Insights lists HeyClicky's FY revenue as 0 as of April 30, 2026, and the company has raised only a $500K convertible note (May 1, 2026), suggesting an early, pre-revenue YC startup.
Could AI replace HeyClicky's product?
Yes, largely. HeyClicky is a UX wrapper around Claude, AssemblyAI, and ElevenLabs with no proprietary model. Anthropic's Computer Use and OpenAI's Operator already offer the same screen-aware capability natively as of mid-2026.
Who is HeyClicky's biggest competitor?
Cluely, a rival screen-scraping AI overlay, reportedly reached about $20M ARR by late 2025 with $15M from a16z (third-party reported, unconfirmed). Frontier labs Anthropic and OpenAI also ship overlapping native features.
Who owns HeyClicky?
HeyClicky is privately held and independent, backed by Y Combinator as part of its Spring 2026 (P26) batch. Per CB Insights, it has raised $500K across two rounds, the latest a convertible note dated May 1, 2026.
How many users does HeyClicky have?
HeyClicky's own site claims 25,000-plus users as of June 15, 2026 (vendor-claimed, unverified). A newsletter also reported the founder's launch demo hit roughly 3 million views around June 9, 2026.
Does HeyClicky have a real technical moat?
No proprietary model or data lock-in has been identified. HeyClicky explicitly markets 'no plugins or integrations needed,' meaning low switching costs; its main asset is founder Farza Majeed's viral distribution reach.
