HRnetGroup
Pan-Asian recruitment and flexible staffing group listed in Singapore, running 18 brands in 18 cities.
The flexible staffing contracts keep cash flowing while mid-tier recruitment softens and Octomate's SaaS pivot still awaits its first real multi-year contract.
HRnetGroup supplies temporary workers and finds staff for companies across Asia, and it owns its own workers (called contractors) rather than just matching people to jobs, which is harder for competitors to copy because of government rules. The bigger problem is that regular recruitment, which makes up about one quarter of the business, is getting squeezed by AI tools that can now do the sourcing and matching work that people used to do, and the company has been flat revenue-wise for three years even though it made money. The one thing that could matter most is whether their new software product called Octomate catches on with big companies and governments as a real ongoing business, because right now it is just an experiment that does not move the needle.
Octomate lands a multi-year enterprise or government contract beyond Sentosa, Mandai, Outward Bound, Cora. Would show the SaaS pivot is scaling past pilots into recurring revenue.

- Is HRnetGroup profitable in 2026?
- Yes. HRnetGroup reported FY2025 net profit after tax of S$52.9m, up 14.3% year on year, on revenue of S$584.0m, up 3.0%, per its results announcement dated 25 February 2026. The company is debt-free with about S$336m cash as of 16 April 2026.
- Could AI replace HRnetGroup's recruiters?
- Partially. HRnetGroup itself says mid-tier professional recruitment faces intense competition from AI-driven sourcing and screening, prompting a pivot to executive search. But its Flexible Staffing segment, where it is legal employer for 16,421 contractors as of 31 December 2025, requires regulatory registration AI cannot replicate.
- Who is HRnetGroup's biggest competitor?
- HRnetGroup competes with global staffing giants Adecco Group, Randstad, ManpowerGroup, PERSOL Holdings and Recruit Holdings across the same Asian markets, per its own FY2025 investor materials dated 25 February 2026. None structurally bar HRnetGroup, so competition is on execution and client relationships, not exclusivity.

- Is HRnetGroup's Octomate product actually generating revenue?
- Octomate, HRnetGroup's HRtech SaaS unit majority-acquired in 2022, has landed contracts including Sentosa Development Corporation and Mandai Wildlife Group announced 21 July 2026, but HRnetGroup states these wins are 'not expected to have a material financial impact' near-term.
