The call

JobPlanet's review data still has value, but it now lives inside JobKorea's Worksphere, and whether it stays a distinct product or becomes a data feed for AI agents is unresolved.

JobPlanet collected company reviews and employee feedback since 2013 to help job seekers make decisions. In 2024 a trust problem hit when reviews were questioned, and the bigger company JobKorea bought it outright in late 2025, making it no longer independent. The reason JobPlanet could not survive alone: AI tools like ChatGPT can now generate the same kind of employer opinions from public data, and a competing app called Blind already verifies reviews more strictly. The question that matters is whether JobPlanet's old reviews become the secret ingredient inside JobKorea's new AI career advisor launching in early 2026, or whether they just become old data that gets ignored once the AI learns to make recommendations on its own.

Why
01
AI pressure: Worksphere's planned Career Agent/Talent Agent AI tools. AI agents built to summarize employer sentiment could replace the need to browse JobPlanet's own review pages. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: JobKorea (now Worksphere). JobKorea bought JobPlanet outright in Dec 2025 and folded it into its Worksphere umbrella alongside Albamon and NineHire. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. JobPlanet's review database, built since 2013, is still the largest employer-sentiment archive in Korea, even after trust took a hit.
What would change this call
Worksphere's H1 2026 'Career Agent'/'Talent Agent' launch names JobPlanet as data backbone or omits it. Shows whether JobPlanet's review data is strategically vital or just an absorbed feed.
JobPlanet review-verification policy tightens to employment-email standard by mid-2026. Would show Worksphere is repairing the 2024 fabricated-review trust gap.
JobPlanet brand/app disappears or merges into JobKorea's core app by Q4 2026. Would confirm rapid team consolidation and loss of independent product identity.

Questions people ask
Is JobPlanet still an independent company in 2026?
No. JobKorea acquired JobPlanet's platform, staff and operations via asset purchase, closing Dec 31, 2025. The entity was renamed Jobplanet LLC and folded into JobKorea's new parent umbrella Worksphere effective Jan 1, 2026, ending its independent status.
Is JobPlanet profitable?
No public profitability figures exist. JobPlanet last raised outside funding in 2015 and has disclosed no revenue since; its purchase price in the Dec 2025 JobKorea acquisition was not disclosed, leaving no verified financial picture as of 2026.
Who owns JobPlanet now?
JobKorea owns JobPlanet after acquiring it via asset deal, closed Dec 31, 2025. JobKorea itself is owned by Hong Kong private equity firm Affinity Equity Partners since a March 2021 deal, with both now sitting under the Worksphere group umbrella launched Jan 2026.
Could AI replace JobPlanet's core product?
JobPlanet's job is synthesizing scattered employee sentiment into reviews, something LLMs do well at scale. Its 12-year proprietary Korean review dataset is a partial defense, but an Oct 17, 2024 investigation found fabricated reviews for Kakao and POSCO E&C were approved without verification, weakening trust in that moat.
Who is JobPlanet's biggest competitor?
Blind is the sharpest competitive threat, verifying reviewers via corporate email versus JobPlanet's weaker process exposed in an Oct 17, 2024 report. JobKorea, its own parent since Dec 2025, and Wanted Lab, which rebranded its enterprise AI unit to Enoia in April 2026, are also direct rivals.
Did JobPlanet have a data integrity scandal?
Yes. An Oct 17, 2024 investigative report found a reporter could post fabricated premium reviews for companies like Kakao and POSCO E&C he never worked at, exposing weak verification compared to rivals Saramin, Incruit, and Blind, which require employment proof.
