The call

Keenon still ships the most robots on paper, but its funding has stalled since 2021 while Pudu claims the revenue lead and humanoid rivals race ahead with deeper pockets.

Keenon makes robots that deliver food and packages in restaurants and warehouses across 60+ countries, with over 100,000 units shipped. The problem is that Pudu Robotics builds nearly identical robots and has now taken the sales lead, while newer companies like AgiBot and Unitree are moving into humanoid robots with more funding and better technology. The one thing that could change this: if the new US ban on importing humanoid robots is strictly enforced and blocks Keenon's competitors while letting Keenon's wheeled delivery robots in, it might buy them time, but their silence on an IPO since 2021 and frozen funding suggest investors have already moved on.

Why
01
AI pressure: AgiBot and Unitree's AI-driven humanoid platforms. Rivals pack more advanced navigation and manipulation AI into humanoids, making Keenon's wheeled fleet look like older hardware. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Pudu Robotics. Pudu now claims the #1 global revenue and shipment spot per Frost & Sullivan, directly contesting Keenon's long-held shipment lead. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. A 100,000+ robot installed base across 600+ cities gives it restaurant and hotel distribution rivals still have to build from scratch.
What would change this call
Keenon announces new funding round or files for IPO before end of 2027. Would show investors still value it above the stale 2021 mark; silence confirms capital has stalled.
Scope of the July 2026 US import ban on Chinese humanoid/quadruped robots as enforced. Would show whether Keenon's XMAN humanoid line and wheeled robots are locked out of the US market.
Independent quarterly shipment or revenue data comparing Keenon and Pudu Robotics through 2027. Would confirm whether Pudu has actually overtaken Keenon or the rankings remain contested.

Questions people ask
Is Keenon Robotics profitable in 2026?
Keenon discloses no audited revenue or profit figures. As a private company with an outdated 2019 revenue estimate of $14.36M and no funding round since September 2021, there is no public evidence of profitability as of July 2026.
Who owns Keenon Robotics?
Keenon is privately held and founder-led by CEO Li Tong, a former Microsoft robotics engineer who started the company February 4, 2010 in Shanghai. Investors include SoftBank Vision Fund 2, which led its $200M Series D on September 15, 2021.
Is Keenon Robotics the biggest service robot maker, or is Pudu bigger?
Both claim number one. IDC's 2024 data credits Keenon with 22.7% global shipment share, but Frost & Sullivan (July 16, 2026) ranked rival Pudu Robotics number one by revenue (~25% share) and shipment volume (~23%), disputing Keenon's lead.
Could AI or humanoid rivals replace Keenon Robotics?
Keenon's wheeled delivery and cleaning robots face commoditization risk from better-funded humanoid makers like AgiBot and Unitree, which already ship thousands of units. Keenon's own humanoid line, XMAN-F1 (launched July 2025), remains at pilot scale as of 2026.
Is Keenon Robotics affected by the US humanoid robot import ban?
The US announced a ban on imports of new Chinese-made humanoid and quadruped robots on July 28-29, 2026, citing national security. It targets Unitree and AgiBot primarily, but could also restrict Keenon's XMAN humanoid line from the US market.
Will Keenon Robotics go public soon?
36Kr reported on September 10, 2025 that Keenon's investors and executives were discussing a possible IPO amid China's 2025-26 robotics listing wave, but no filing has been confirmed as of July 2026, unlike rival AgiBot's Hong Kong IPO push.
