The call

Loggi built a real delivery network, but its largest customer is quietly building the same thing and buying pieces of Loggi to do it.

Loggi runs a physical delivery network across Brazil with warehouses, sorting centers, and pickup points serving over 1,000 cities, plus software that plans efficient routes for deliveries. The business is hard to copy because it took 12+ years to build all those physical locations and learned which routes work best, but its biggest customer, Mercado Livre, is now building its own delivery system and buying pieces of Loggi instead of using it. Cheaper routing software from other companies is also making Loggi's technology less special. The company has never made a profit, stopped raising investor money five years ago, and just switched from trying to grow to trying to break even, which means the real test is whether Mercado Livre keeps buying Loggi's operations or switches completely to its own system.

Why
01
AI pressure: Commodity AI routing-optimization SaaS (Cobli, Geoambiente). Rivals now sell the same route-clustering AI as a subscription, so Loggi's software edge stops being special. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Mercado Livre (Mercado Envios). Loggi's biggest customer is building its own delivery arm and bought two of Loggi's operations outright in 2026. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. A physical network of 250+ branches, 10 cross-docks, and 1,900+ pickup points across 1,000+ towns that took over a decade to build.
What would change this call
Mercado Livre announces further acquisition of Loggi operations or hubs within 6-12 months. Confirms accelerating customer concentration loss to its largest client.
Loggi reports progress against its May 2026 two-year cash-breakeven target by Q4 2026. A miss would confirm distress trajectory rather than turnaround.
Loggi announces a new equity round at, above, or below the $2B 2021 valuation. Reveals whether investors still validate its standalone worth or force a down-round.

Questions people ask
Is Loggi profitable in 2026?
Not confirmed. Loggi's CEO claimed operational breakeven in 2022, but the company launched a new restructuring in May 2026 with an explicit goal to reach cash breakeven within two years, implying it was not cash-breakeven as of mid-2026.
Who owns Loggi?
Loggi is a private, founder and VC-controlled Brazilian logistics company. Investors include SoftBank, Microsoft (M12), Monashees, Qualcomm Ventures, Kaszek, Dragoneer and IFC. Its last disclosed equity valuation was $2 billion from a March 2021 Series F round.
Could AI replace Loggi's delivery business?
AI cannot replace Loggi's physical network of 250+ branches, 10 cross-docks and 1,900+ pickup points, but its route-optimization software edge is eroding as commodity AI routing SaaS like Cobli and Geoambiente (as of February 2026) becomes available to any competing carrier.
Who is Loggi's biggest competitor?
Mercado Livre, once one of Loggi's largest customers, is now Loggi's biggest threat: its Mercado Envios logistics arm has been internalizing delivery volume, and in 2026 Mercado Livre bought two Loggi operations in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Has Loggi raised new funding recently?
Loggi has not disclosed a new equity round since its $212 million Series F in March 2021, which valued it at $2 billion. In September 2025 it instead closed a roughly $19.2 million government debt facility from Brazil's FINEP agency.
Why did Loggi change its CEO in 2026?
In May 2026 Loggi installed Rafael Szarf, former Ze Delivery COO, as President focused on operations, moving its prior CEO to an advisory role, as part of a restructuring aimed at reaching cash breakeven and doubling market share within two years.
