The call

Recruitee sits inside a bigger group with real customers, but LinkedIn's AI hiring tools already automate its core ATS tasks at scale.

Recruitee helps companies find and hire people by automating tasks like screening resumes, writing job descriptions, and scheduling interviews. The problem is that these exact tasks are now being automated by AI tools, especially LinkedIn's new Hiring Assistant, which already has millions of users and a massive parent company backing it. LinkedIn can build and improve AI features much faster and cheaper than Recruitee can, and there is no special data or lock-in that prevents bigger companies from copying what Recruitee does. The one thing that could save Recruitee is if it proves its AI features work better than LinkedIn's or if it finds a specific type of customer (like very small companies or niche industries) that LinkedIn ignores.

Why
01
AI pressure: LinkedIn Hiring Assistant (Microsoft). It writes job posts, screens resumes, and sources candidates automatically, the exact tasks Recruitee's ATS charges for. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: LinkedIn/Microsoft, with Personio pushing down from HRIS. LinkedIn's Hiring Assistant already runs at a $450M revenue pace and Personio could bolt on its own ATS to squeeze Recruitee from above. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Existing customers stay because switching ATS workflows and integrations mid-year is painful, not because rivals can't copy features.
What would change this call
LinkedIn Hiring Assistant launches SMB-tier pricing (€200-€400/month) in Europe within 12 months. Would show LinkedIn directly targeting Recruitee's core SMB customer segment.
Personio announces or acquires a native ATS module within 18 months. Would show a well-funded HR-suite rival moving into Recruitee's core ATS turf.
Tellent publishes independent third-party benchmark data on its AI hiring features. Would show whether Recruitee's AI claims hold up against LinkedIn and rivals or remain unverified.

Questions people ask
Is Recruitee profitable in 2026?
No audited financials are public. Third-party estimates conflict wildly: Datanyze puts standalone revenue near $22.6M with 107 staff, while Growjo's 2022 snapshot showed just $1.1M and 13 employees, so profitability cannot be confirmed from available data.
Who owns Recruitee now?
Recruitee operates under parent company Tellent, backed by growth-equity firm PSG Equity since a February 2021 merger with Finnish HR vendor Sympa. Tellent also owns Javelo and kiwiHR, acquired in September 2022 when the group rebranded from Recruitee to Tellent.
Could AI replace what Recruitee does?
Much of it already overlaps with automated tasks: SHRM's 2025 Talent Trends report found AI automates 66% of job-description writing and 44% of resume screening industry-wide, and LinkedIn's Hiring Assistant, general availability since September 2025, hit a $450M revenue run-rate by April 2026 doing similar work.
Who is Recruitee's biggest competitor?
Personio, a much larger Munich-based HR suite valued at $8.5B in 2022 with about 12,000 customers and 2,000 employees as of June 2024, competes from the HRIS side, while LinkedIn's AI-native Hiring Assistant, shipped September 2025, threatens core ATS workflows directly.
Has Recruitee raised funding recently?
No new funding round has been reported since the September 2022 financing tied to Tellent's acquisitions of Javelo and kiwiHR, according to CB Insights data as of July 2026.
What happened to the Recruitee brand?
Recruitee, founded in Amsterdam in 2015, merged with Sympa in February 2021 and was rebranded into the Tellent group in September 2022 after acquiring Javelo and kiwiHR; the ATS product is now marketed as Tellent Recruitee.
