The call

A long-running agency tool with loyal but small customer base, now inside an unclear ownership structure while bigger rivals build the AI features it only rents.

Sendible helps agencies manage social media for multiple clients, with features like shared workspaces and white-label branding that let agencies put their own name on the product. But these features are not hard to copy, and bigger competitors like Hootsuite and Sprout Social already have them plus better AI tools that can listen to what people are saying online and act on it automatically. Sendible's AI is basically just OpenAI's technology wrapped up in their software, which is simpler than what rivals built. The one thing that could change everything is if the company gets new owners after its current investment firm (Alpine) exits in 2025 and those new owners invest heavily in real AI that Sendible's competitors don't have yet, though there's no sign that's happening now.

Why
01
AI pressure: OpenAI (ChatGPT and similar caption/report generators). General AI assistants already write captions and reports, the exact tasks Sendible charges agencies for. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: Hootsuite (Lumen) and Sprout Social (Trellis). Both now ship their own AI listening and agent features while Sendible still wraps plain OpenAI. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Agencies stay locked into its multi-client workspaces, white-label reports, and Client Connect approval flow, which are painful to rebuild elsewhere.
What would change this call
Sendible ships a proprietary listening or AI agent feature (not OpenAI wrapper) by 2027. Would show it can close the AI gap versus Hootsuite Lumen and Sprout Trellis.
Sendible appears in Gartner's 2027 Magic Quadrant for social media management. Would show renewed enterprise credibility after 2026 exclusion.
Public confirmation of Traject's owner after Alpine SG's 2025 exit. Would show whether Sendible is backed for growth or left as a static cash-cow asset.

Questions people ask
Is Sendible profitable in 2026?
Sendible reportedly reached 8 figures in recurring revenue as a bootstrapped company before its March 9, 2021 acquisition by Traject. No confirmed public profitability figures exist for 2026; the company only vendor-claims 30,000+ agency users, with no disclosed profit data since.
Who owns Sendible now?
Sendible was acquired by Traject, backed by Alpine SG, on 2021-03-09. Alpine SG's own site states it fully exited Traject in 2025, but no press release confirms who owns Sendible today, leaving current ownership unresolved as of late 2025.
Could AI replace Sendible?
Sendible's AI Assist feature is a wrapper around OpenAI for captions and tone as of 2026, while rivals Hootsuite (Lumen by Talkwalker) and Sprout Social (Trellis agents) ship proprietary AI and listening tools, per Gartner's July 2026 Magic Quadrant, which excluded Sendible entirely.
Is Sendible growing or shrinking?
Sendible had 47 employees at its March 2021 Traject acquisition; 2026 employee-count trackers show a range from 11 to 50, suggesting flat-to-shrinking headcount over five years, even as Sendible's own marketing claims growth to 30,000+ users from 20,000+ in 2021.
Who is Sendible's biggest competitor?
Hootsuite and Sprout Social were named Visionaries in Gartner's first Magic Quadrant for Social Media Management and Listening, published July 14, 2026, while Sprinklr and Emplifi were named Leaders. Sendible was not assessed in that Gartner quadrant at all.
Did Sendible get acquired?
Yes. Sendible, bootstrapped for about 12 years after its 2009 London founding by Gavin Hammar, was acquired by Traject, a marketing-tech holding company backed by Alpine SG, on March 9, 2021; deal terms were undisclosed.
