The call

A profitable, fast-growing ticketing business trying to go public in the same window its biggest market's rival just got bought by CTS Eventim.

Ticketplus is a ticket-selling company that makes money by partnering with local businesses in Latin America to help them sell event tickets online. It grew fast and turned a profit, but most of its sales (94 percent) come from Chile, where a much larger competitor called CTS Eventim just bought the leading local ticket seller, Punto Ticket. That deal puts Ticketplus in direct competition with a company backed by a huge global music company and Live Nation, which is harder to beat because they have more money and already own ticket platforms in many countries. The company's planned stock sale got cheaper and moved to a smaller stock exchange, suggesting Wall Street worries it cannot keep growing fast if these bigger rivals keep buying up local ticket sellers.

Why
01
AI pressure: None apparent. No AI product is named as targeting ticketing sales or distribution here; the pressure on Ticketplus is from human-run rivals, not models. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: CTS Eventim (via Punto Ticket) and Live Nation/Ticketmaster. CTS Eventim/Sony Music already own Punto Ticket in Chile, the market that generates 94% of Ticketplus's revenue. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Local white-label partnerships across 11 countries and actual profitability, not just growth, give it something to defend with.
What would change this call
Punto Ticket announces new venue or promoter exclusivity deals in Chile within 12 months. Would show CTS Eventim converting Ticketplus's core market share.
Ticketplus's IPO prices below the $8-10 range or is withdrawn. Would confirm investor doubt about its moat durability.
One or more Ticketplus white-label partners in Latin America are acquired by CTS Eventim or Live Nation. Would show the partner network cracking under incumbent roll-up pressure.

Questions people ask
Is Ticketplus profitable in 2026?
Yes. Ticketplus reported FY2025 net income of $2.24 million, more than doubling year over year, on revenue of $29.5 million (up 64% from $18.0 million in FY2024), per its May 28, 2026 SEC F-1 filing.
Who owns Ticketplus and is it public yet?
Ticketplus Ltd. is still privately held as of July 2026. It filed an F-1 on May 28, 2026 to list as 'TP' on NYSE American (switched from Nasdaq on June 30, 2026), but as of July 29, 2026 the IPO had not yet priced.
Who is Ticketplus's biggest competitor?
Punto Ticket in Chile, acquired in 2023 by a CTS Eventim/Sony Music joint venture. Chile generates 94.3% of Ticketplus's 2025 revenue, making this well-capitalized rival its single most critical competitive threat.
Is Ticketplus's IPO in trouble?
Terms have weakened sharply: the deal shrank from a targeted $29 million (May 28, 2026) to $25 million at $13-15/share (June 11, 2026) to $17 million at $8-10/share (July 21-23, 2026), a roughly 33% cut, alongside a downgrade from Nasdaq to NYSE American.
Could AI replace Ticketplus's ticketing platform?
Not easily for its core moat. Local venue integration, access control, and payment rails in Chile resist AI disruption, but Ticketplus's white-label SaaS layer serving 10 other Latin American countries is increasingly commoditizable via off-the-shelf AI ticketing toolkits as of mid-2026.
How many employees does Ticketplus have?
Ticketplus had 34 employees as of mid-to-late July 2026, per TradingView's pre-IPO tracker, a very small headcount relative to its $29.5 million FY2025 revenue, consistent with an asset-light, software-driven model.
