The call

Yimidida's independent status is unconfirmed, its funding trail went quiet years ago, and larger rivals have kept absorbing networks just like it.

Yimidida operates a network of 14 regional delivery partners in China handling less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments to rural and lower-tier cities. The model is not hard to copy: larger, richer competitors like J&T Express, SF Holdings, and ANE have already done it, buying up similar networks wholesale over the past few years. The real question is whether Yimidida still exists as its own company at all, or whether it was absorbed into J&T Express around 2021-22, which would mean you would actually be joining J&T (a Hong Kong stock exchange company) under a brand name rather than an independent business.

Why
01
AI pressure: AI-driven dispatch, routing and pricing tools used by larger rivals like J&T and SF. Bigger rivals build proprietary routing and pricing AI that cuts cost per shipment; Yimidida's alliance network has no visible answer to that. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: J&T Express (1519.HK), also SF Holdings, ANE, ZTO, Yunda. Vendor sources say J&T folded Yimidida into its network by January 2022; J&T has also absorbed BEST and Fengwang, the same fate this network may share. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. None visible: the alliance model that once looked different is now the exact thing bigger, richer rivals buy and absorb.
What would change this call
Chinese SAIC registry filing shows Yimidida's current legal owner. Confirms whether it still operates independently or as a J&T subsidiary.
J&T Express (1519.HK) issues any statement naming Yimidida or Huisen Suyun as a subsidiary brand. Would confirm the vendor-claimed 2021-22 merger as fact.
Any new funding round or audited revenue disclosure by Yimidida after 2020. Would show the company still raises capital as an independent entity.

Questions people ask
Is Yimidida still an independent company or was it acquired by J&T Express?
PitchBook lists Yimidida's status as Acquired/Merged and Formerly VC-backed. Vendor sources claim J&T Express absorbed it via a merger completed January 2022, folding its holding entity into Huisen Suyun by December 2021, but no third-party press confirms this transaction as of July 2026.
Has Yimidida raised any funding since its 2019 unicorn valuation?
No. Yimidida's last confirmed funding was a Series D+ round of roughly $142.86 million in February 2020, tied to acquiring UC Express. No credible primary source shows any funding activity after that date, and its $1.167 billion valuation mark is dated July 2019.
Is Yimidida profitable?
No audited or company-disclosed revenue or profit figures exist for Yimidida. A vendor claim of $750 million 2024 revenue up 22% year over year comes from a source that also fabricated an unrelated industrial-automation narrative for the company, so it is not credible.
Who is Yimidida's biggest competitor?
J&T Express (1519.HK), which absorbed BEST Inc.'s China express business for about RMB6.8 billion in December 2021 and SF's Fengwang Express in 2023, then listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in October 2023, is the dominant consolidator in Yimidida's LTL market and its likely acquirer per unverified vendor claims.
Would AI replace Yimidida's business model?
Yimidida's alliance-of-regional-networks model faces disintermediation risk from AI-driven freight matching, dispatch and pricing tools that larger rivals like J&T, SF and ANE already own, though its physical trucking and rural last-mile network is not something AI alone can replicate as of 2026.
How much money has Yimidida raised in total?
Yimidida raised approximately $547 to 554 million across roughly 8 to 9 funding rounds through February 2020, per PitchBook, from investors including Boyu Capital, CDH Investments, Cathay Capital, GLP, China Development Bank and Bank of China Group Investment.
