Why it did not hold

Jasper keeps running as a mid-size AI writing vendor while the free drafting tools built into ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini narrow its reason to exist.

Jasper sells AI writing tools to businesses, charging them to draft marketing copy, emails, and ads faster. But the same thing is now free in ChatGPT, Claude, and Google Gemini, and bigger companies like HubSpot, Adobe, and Salesforce are adding similar writing features to their own products at no extra cost. The one thing that could save Jasper is if it wins a new round of funding (it has not raised money in four years despite the AI boom) and proves its customers pay for something the big players genuinely cannot copy, like brand voice control or industry-specific compliance, but the numbers do not yet show that is happening.

01
AI pressure: ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude for Enterprise, Gemini in Workspace. Free chatbots now draft copy and add brand-voice governance, eating into Jasper's main use case at no extra cost.
02
Bigger players: HubSpot, Adobe, Salesforce, Writer.com. HubSpot, Adobe, and Salesforce bundle AI content and governance into suites customers already pay for.
03
What protected it. About 900 enterprise customers and existing brand-voice workflows create some switching cost, though it looks thin against free bundles.
