The call

Arrival ceased operating in 2024 after bankruptcy in the UK and Luxembourg, and its remaining assets are still being liquidated with no revival in sight.

Arrival was a company that tried to build electric delivery vans to compete with Ford's e-Transit and Mercedes' eSprinter. The company never managed to build enough vehicles to prove its technology worked or could be made cheaper than rivals, and it burned through cash so fast that it ran out of money in early 2024 and eventually had to be shut down and its assets sold off. What might still matter is whether lawsuits against the company's founder result in payments to investors, though the company itself is completely gone.

Why
01
AI pressure: None apparent. Arrival stopped operating in 2024; there is no business left for any AI product to threaten. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: Ford (e-Transit), Mercedes-Benz (eSprinter), Rivian with Amazon. These rivals had live electric vans on the road while Arrival built about 20 units total; that gap helped end it, but the company no longer exists to lose further ground. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. None. Assets were sold, the buyer Canoo also went bankrupt, and remaining property has been auctioned off.

Questions people ask
Is Arrival still operating in 2026?
No. Arrival is defunct: it entered UK administration on February 5, 2024, was delisted from Nasdaq in January 2024, was declared bankrupt by a Luxembourg court on May 22, 2024, and by March 2025 had made all but one staff member redundant.
Could I still join Arrival as an employee?
No. There is no company left to join. Arrival shut down operations entirely by March 2025 after a planned sale collapsed, leaving only one staff member, and its manufacturing assets were sold to Canoo in March 2024 then liquidated at auction through mid-2026.
Was Arrival ever profitable?
No. Arrival never generated meaningful revenue. It built only about 20 vehicles in 2022 and posted an H1 2023 loss of $155.7 million against just $43 million in cash, despite claiming roughly 64,000 vehicle orders including a $1.2 billion UPS deal.
Who bought Arrival's assets after bankruptcy?
Bankrupt EV startup Canoo acquired Arrival's US and UK manufacturing equipment in March 2024 (announced March 25, 2024). Canoo itself then filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy on January 17, 2025, and the combined equipment was later sold off via industrial liquidation auctions through mid-2026.
What was Arrival's peak valuation and what happened to it?
Arrival peaked at roughly $13 to 15 billion in valuation after its March 2021 Nasdaq listing via SPAC merger with CIIG Merger Corp. By September 2022 its stock had fallen 96 percent from those highs, and it was delisted from Nasdaq in January 2024 before going bankrupt.
Is there any ongoing legal risk tied to Arrival's founder?
Yes. As of July 7, 2026, securities fraud claims remain active against founder Denis Sverdlov and his Kinetik entity in the EDNY case Sanchez v. Arrival SA et al., separate from the $11.275 million settlement that received final court approval on March 25, 2026.
