Bank Jago
Indonesian digital bank tied to Gojek/GoTo, profitable and deposit-taking under OJK license.
Jago's banking business is healthy and growing, but a live strategic review and crowded ecosystem-bank competition make its next year less certain than its numbers alone suggest.
Bank Jago is a licensed bank in Indonesia that lets people save and borrow money through apps and the internet instead of branches. It has real advantages: the government only lets certain companies do this, and it has partnerships with popular shopping apps that other banks cannot easily copy. However, it is losing its protection for three reasons. First, the founder is working with Goldman Sachs to possibly sell the bank or merge it with another company, which could change everything within the next year or so. Second, two other digital banks, SeaBank and Superbank, are doing the exact same thing and growing fast, so it is not clear that Bank Jago will win customers' loyalty. Third, the stock price has dropped 50% this year, so betting your money on it bouncing back in a few years is a real gamble, not a safe choice.
Q3/Q4 2026 earnings show whether CASA ratio stays above 50% and customer growth keeps pace. Would show whether Jago is holding deposit funding advantage against SeaBank and Superbank.
Jago's stock price and analyst ratings (Macquarie, Nomura) trend over the next two quarters. Would show whether market confidence in Jago's standalone growth story is recovering or worsening.

- 20.1 million customers, 14.7 million on Jago App
- Capital adequacy ratio 28.4%, gross NPL 0.8%
- Active Goldman-advised strategic review could result in merger or foreign stake sale, changing company identity within 6 to 18 months.
- Stock down roughly 50% year to date through mid-2026 with analyst downgrades including Macquarie Underperform.
- SeaBank and Superbank running the same ecosystem-bank model with comparable funding and higher trust scores.
- Headcount and employee count data inconsistent across sources, from 611 to 918 depending on provider.
- Tightening AI governance rules from EMEAP central banks, agreed July 2026, could raise compliance costs.

- Is Bank Jago profitable in 2026?
- Yes. Bank Jago reported H1 2026 net profit of IDR 189.1 billion, up about 49% year over year from IDR 127.1 billion, with total assets of IDR 41.4 trillion and gross NPL of just 0.8%, as reported on July 23, 2026.
- Is Bank Jago being sold or merged?

- Could AI replace Bank Jago?
- No. Bank Jago holds an OJK banking license and LPS deposit insurance, regulatory cover no AI layer can replicate. It uses AI internally for fraud, credit scoring, and CX since near its 2021 launch, but the license and ecosystem distribution remain the moat, not AI itself.
- Who is Bank Jago's biggest competitor?

- Who owns Bank Jago?
- Founder Jerry Ng controls about 29.8% via Metamorfosis Ekosistem Indonesia, GoTo's GoPay subsidiary holds about 21.4%, Patrick Walujo's Wealth Track Technology holds about 11.7%, and GIC holds about 9.12%, per 2026 ownership disclosures.
- Why has Bank Jago's stock fallen in 2026?
- Bank Jago's market value had fallen roughly 50% year to date to about IDR 13.7 trillion as of July 8, 2026, amid analyst downgrades including Macquarie's Underperform call and uncertainty from the Goldman-advised strategic review.
