The call

BuildOps grew fast on real contractor lock-in, but it picked a fight with Procore just as ServiceTitan turns its AI and marketing guns directly on it.

BuildOps makes software that helps construction companies manage their jobs, crews, and money in one place. The company has real advantages because it has 1,500 customers whose data is locked in with deep connections to other tools they already use, and it is growing very fast at nearly 2 times per year. But ServiceTitan and Procore, which are much larger and have way more money and people, are copying BuildOps' features and artificial intelligence tools quickly. BuildOps also started a new product to compete with Procore in May 2026, which spreads their focus thin. The real test will be whether ServiceTitan can steal BuildOps' biggest customers over the next couple of years. If that starts happening, or if BuildOps' growth falls sharply, the company will be in serious trouble.

Why
01
AI pressure: ServiceTitan Atlas AI suite. Atlas targets the same workflow data BuildOps built OpsAI on, and ServiceTitan can ship features faster with more revenue behind it. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: ServiceTitan and Procore. ServiceTitan runs anti-BuildOps comparison pages while Procore, at $1.1B revenue, sits right where BuildOps just launched its Projects module. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. 1,500+ contractors with years of migrated asset data and deep ERP ties that make switching costly.
What would change this call
BuildOps closes a Series D before Q1 2027 at a valuation step-up from the $1B mark. Would show investors still back its growth story and moat despite incumbent pressure.
ServiceTitan announces named commercial-contractor logo wins previously served by BuildOps. Would show the larger incumbent is actively converting BuildOps customers.
BuildOps Projects module reports paying construction customers within two quarters of its May 2026 launch. Would show the new front against Procore is gaining traction rather than diverting focus.

Questions people ask
Is BuildOps profitable in 2026?
No public profitability figures exist. BuildOps is privately held with no disclosed net income. CEO Alok Chanani says revenue doubled in 2023 and 2024 (self-reported), and Latka estimates ARR at ~$97.4M as of late 2025, but profitability status remains undisclosed as of July 2026.
Who owns BuildOps?
BuildOps is privately held and venture-backed, not owned by a single parent. It reached unicorn status in March 2025 at a $1B valuation after a $127M Series C led by Meritech Capital Partners, with BOND Capital, Schneider Electric's SE Ventures, Fika Ventures, Next47, StepStone Group and Titanium Ventures as investors.
Could AI replace BuildOps?
Unlikely to replace it outright by 2026, but AI could commoditize BuildOps' differentiation. Its OpsAI features (Smart Dispatch, invoice scanning) are largely LLM wrappers on workflow data, and rivals ServiceTitan (Atlas) and Procore (Procore AI) are racing to ship comparable AI as of mid-2026.
Who is BuildOps' biggest competitor?
ServiceTitan is the most direct threat: publicly traded since December 2024 with about $551M revenue, it publishes anti-BuildOps comparison content (July 2026) and ships a competing AI suite called Atlas. Procore, with over $1.1B revenue in 2024, is a second major rival BuildOps challenged directly by launching its Projects module in May 2026.
How much funding has BuildOps raised?
BuildOps has raised roughly $225.8M to $250M+ total as of March 2025, including a $50M Series B in May 2023 and a $127M Series C in March 2025 that valued the company at $1B. No new round has been publicly disclosed as of July 2026, 16 months after the Series C.
What is BuildOps' ARR in 2026?
Third-party estimator Latka pegs BuildOps ARR at approximately $97.4M as of late 2025, up from an estimated $51.9M in 2024, roughly doubling year over year. This is an unaudited third-party estimate, not a company-confirmed figure, and no official 2026 ARR has been disclosed.
