The call

Bynder holds a real position with deep workflow ties across thousands of brands, but it has yet to answer Frontify's MCP move or Adobe's bundling pressure.

Bynder stores and organizes digital files like photos, videos, and logos for large companies, making it easier for teams to find and use brand materials. It competes directly with Adobe's similar product and has real switching costs because thousands of enterprises rely on its workflows, but that advantage is being challenged: Frontify, a smaller rival, recently built direct connections to AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT so those tools can search Bynder's own library without leaving the AI, while Bynder itself has not done this yet. If Bynder doesn't add those AI connections within the next year or so, customers might start using newer AI-first tools instead, which could gradually turn the company's storage software into a commodity that anyone can replicate.

Why
01
AI pressure: Frontify (native MCP server) and general AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT. Frontify already lets Claude and ChatGPT pull assets directly via MCP. Bynder has no equivalent, risking a slide into plain storage behind someone else's AI layer. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Adobe (Adobe Experience Manager Assets). Adobe co-leads the same Gartner and Forrester rankings and can bundle AEM Assets into Creative Cloud, a pitch Bynder can't match on price or reach. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Thousands of brands have Bynder wired into daily approval and publishing workflows, and ripping that out is slow and risky for marketing teams.

Questions people ask
Is Bynder profitable in 2026?
Bynder has not disclosed net profitability. It self-reported crossing $100M in ARR in mid-2022 with eight straight quarters of 25%+ growth, and claimed its strongest-ever new-business quarter in Q4 2025 with 37% YoY US growth, per a January 13, 2026 press release, but no audited profit figures exist.
Who owns Bynder now?
Thomas H. Lee Partners (THL) announced a majority investment in Bynder in December 2022, taking over Insight Partners' stake, with the deal expected to close in early 2023. A 2026 third-party estimate (Caplight) puts the deal valuation around $600M.
Could AI replace Bynder's product?
Bynder is racing to stay relevant by building its own AI Agents (launched March 2025) and an Agentic AI platform (September 2025), but as of July 2026 it lacks a native MCP server letting Claude or ChatGPT query its assets directly, a gap rival Frontify has already closed.
Who is Bynder's biggest competitor?
Adobe, via Adobe Experience Manager Assets, co-leads the same Gartner and Forrester DAM leaderboards as Bynder and can bundle its offering into Creative Cloud. Separately, Frontify poses an AI-native threat after shipping a native MCP server ahead of Bynder as of mid-2026.
Has Bynder had layoffs?
No layoff reports were found as of July 2026. Third-party workforce data (Revelio Labs) instead shows headcount growing from 399 employees in 2023 to 496 in December 2025, a 24.3% increase, though a separate tracker (Crustdata) cites a higher 631-632 figure for mid-2026.
Is Bynder considered a market leader in digital asset management?
Yes. Bynder was named a Leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Digital Asset Management Platforms in November 2025, and a Leader plus 'Customer Favorite' in Forrester's Wave: DAM Systems, Q1 2026 (announced February 19, 2026), alongside Adobe and Aprimo.
