The call

Complir has one deeply embedded anchor customer and a live plugin, but nothing yet stops Enhesa or an LLM agent from doing the same mapping at scale.

Complir makes software that helps companies figure out which rules apply to their products in different countries, especially new environmental laws in Europe. Right now, Complir has one big customer locked in and a useful plugin in design software, but anyone with public rule books and AI can build something similar. The real threat is Enhesa, which already serves 400+ regions and is adding AI to automate the same job Complir does by hand. Complir has about 18 to 24 months to get many more customers locked into their system before Enhesa's tools get too good to ignore.

Why
01
AI pressure: General-purpose LLM agents (via OpenAI/Anthropic-style APIs). Any team could point an LLM at public EU regulatory text and match it to SKU attributes, undercutting Complir's manual mapping edge. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: Enhesa. Enhesa already runs a 400+ jurisdiction database and is layering AI (Fusion AI) into adjacent compliance work, not yet SKU-level docs. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. 18+ months embedded inside Flying Tiger Copenhagen's workflow, plus an Adobe Illustrator/InDesign plugin that puts Complir where designers already work.
What would change this call
Enhesa's Fusion AI ships SKU-level automated compliance documentation within 12 to 18 months. Would show the incumbent closing the feature gap and eroding Complir's window.
Complir signs 3 to 5 additional anchor retailers beyond Flying Tiger Copenhagen within a year. Would show Complir building system-of-record lock-in before incumbents catch up.
Complir closes a priced seed round after its YC Spring 2026 demo day. Would show investor confidence and capital to race incumbents on speed.

  • Heavy reliance on single flagship anchor customer (Flying Tiger Copenhagen) for traction proof. Severity: medium
  • Pricing model undisclosed and revenue unconfirmed, raising sustainability questions ahead of next funding need. Severity: medium
  • Traction metrics (100,000+ products, 45% MoM growth) are self-reported and unverified by third parties. Severity: medium

Questions people ask
What does Complir actually do?
Complir builds AI agents that map product SKUs to applicable regulations, generate compliance documentation, and monitor rule changes across 40+ country frameworks for retailers. Founded May 2024 in Copenhagen, it is described by Y Combinator as 'Vanta for physical products,' and joined YC's Spring 2026 batch.
Is Complir profitable?
No public profitability data exists. Complir is a private, venture-backed pre-seed startup that raised €1.7M (post-money €6.8M) in December 2025 and reported self-serve growth of ~45% month-over-month as of its April 2026 YC launch, but has not disclosed revenue or profit figures.
Who is Complir's biggest competitor?
Enhesa, an established regulatory-intelligence platform covering 400+ jurisdictions with 160+ in-house legal experts (vendor-claimed), is the closest incumbent threat. Enhesa has already shipped an AI layer called 'Fusion' as of May 2026, narrowing Complir's technical differentiation window.
Could AI replace Complir?
Complir's own core task, mapping public regulatory text to SKU attributes, is directly AI-automatable and not protected by accreditation or proprietary data. Incumbents like Enhesa and EcoOnline have already shipped competing AI features (2025-2026), meaning general-purpose AI or rivals could replicate Complir's function.
How much funding has Complir raised?
Complir raised a €1.7M pre-seed round (post-money valuation €6.8M) announced December 1, 2025, led by Vendep Capital with Plug and Play, Likeminded, and Xpress Ventures, plus a prior €146K grant from Innovation Fund Denmark.
Who founded Complir and when?
Complir was founded in May 2024 in Copenhagen by Gustav Bang (CEO), Tine Kühnel (CPO/designer, DTU), and Marc Kaa Brejner (CTO, ex-consultant to Danish authorities). Founders spent over a year embedded inside anchor customer Flying Tiger Copenhagen before launching publicly in April 2026.
