Delta Electronics
Taiwanese maker of power supplies, converters and data-center power gear for AI, EVs and industry.
Delta rides the AI power-demand wave with real Nvidia integration and rising margins, but its stock's rich valuation leaves it exposed to any slowdown in hyperscaler spending.
Delta Electronics makes the large power systems that run AI data centers, and it has been doing this for 55 years with its own factories and government certifications that take years to get. It is hard to replace because of those certifications and because it has direct partnerships with Nvidia on new technology, but there are still four other companies doing similar work so Delta is not the only choice. The big risk is simple: if tech companies like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft slow down their spending on new data centers, Delta's sales will drop, and the stock price could fall fast since investors are currently paying a premium price based on the expectation that this spending boom will keep going.
Huawei Digital Power announces a scale deal with a non-Asian hyperscaler (e.g. Microsoft, Amazon). Would show Huawei breaking into markets Delta currently serves.
Delta's infrastructure segment growth turns negative for two consecutive quarters. Would show hyperscaler capex pullback hitting Delta harder than peers.
- FY2025 revenue NT$554.9B, up 31.8% YoY
- Q1 2026 net profit NT$20.6B, up 101% YoY
- Infrastructure segment sales NT$51.3B, +48% YoY
- Nvidia 800V HVDC mass production slipped to Q1 2027 due to short-circuit redesign concerns.
- Stock trades at 42-66x forward P/E, vulnerable to any AI capex slowdown.
- Moody's warns of rising hyperscaler leverage funding AI data-center buildouts.
- Active Vicor patent-infringement litigation over power-module technology.
- Huawei Digital Power's low-cost competition in emerging data-center power markets.
| Rival | Direction | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Schneider Electric | contesting | Named market leader among top-5 data-center power vendors as of Jan 2026 |
| Vertiv | contesting | Competes on liquid-cooling and mission-critical power resilience, March 2026 comparison |
| Huawei Digital Power | gaining on | Aggressive low-cost push in Asia and emerging markets, per vendor-comparison sources |
| Vicor Corporation | contesting | Filed patent-infringement suit against Delta, Jan 2026, stayed pending ITC proceeding |
| Eaton | contesting | Part of oligopoly holding ~41-43% combined data-center power market share, Jan 2026 |
- Is Delta Electronics profitable in 2026?
- Yes. Delta Electronics reported Q1 2026 net profit of NT$20.6 billion, up 101% year over year, on sales of NT$159.4 billion, following FY2025 net profit of NT$60.1 billion, up 70.6% year over year, per its analyst meeting filings.
- Who are Delta Electronics' biggest competitors?
- Delta competes with Schneider Electric, Vertiv, Eaton, and ABB in data-center power; these five vendors collectively hold about 41 to 43% of the global data-center power market as of January 2026, per MarketsandMarkets and Mordor Intelligence research.
- Could AI replace Delta Electronics?
- No. Delta manufactures physical power supplies, thermal systems, and automation hardware, functions untouched by generative AI substitution. Instead AI data-center buildouts are a direct revenue driver, with Delta's infrastructure segment sales up 48% year over year to NT$51.3 billion in Q1 2026.
- Is Delta Electronics involved in any lawsuits?
- Yes. Vicor Corporation filed a patent-infringement suit against Delta Electronics and Delta Americas in January 2026, now stayed pending a related ITC proceeding, according to court dockets filed in the Eastern District of Texas dated February 24, 2026.
- Is Delta Electronics stock overvalued?
- It trades at a forward P/E of roughly 42 to 66 times as of July 20, 2026, per Morningstar, after its market cap roughly doubled from about US$79 billion at end-2025 to about US$150 billion by July 2026, leaving it exposed to any AI capex slowdown.
- Does Delta Electronics supply Nvidia?
- Yes, Delta is a named partner for Nvidia's 800V HVDC data-center architecture; Jensen Huang visited Delta's Computex booth on June 4, 2026, and endorsed 800V as the next-generation AI data-center power standard, though he did not confirm Delta as sole supplier.
