The call

Devoteam is a profitable hyperscaler reseller whose billable-hours model sits directly in the path of AI automation and giant-owned professional services arms.

Devoteam helps big companies set up cloud systems and adopt AI tools, and it makes real money doing it across Europe and the Middle East. The problem is that this work is not hard to copy: Accenture, Capgemini, and Deloitte do the same thing at scale, Google and Amazon have their own consultant teams pushing their own cloud services, and AI coding assistants are starting to automate the actual implementation work that Devoteam sells. The one thing that could change the picture is if Devoteam can shift its revenue mix toward AI work fast enough (they are aiming for 12 percent of revenue from AI by 2028), but if they keep hiring lots of people while revenue per employee stays flat or shrinks, that would signal the core business is under real pressure.

Why
01
AI pressure: Gemini Code Assist, GitHub Copilot, agentic coding and config tools. AI tools now auto-generate the scripting, config, and support work that Devoteam bills by the hour. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: Accenture, Capgemini, TCS, and the hyperscalers' own professional services arms. Google Cloud PS, AWS ProServe, and Microsoft PS compete on the same accounts Devoteam serves, with deeper pockets and platform access. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Deep certified relationships with AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft, Salesforce, and ServiceNow across 80% of Eurostoxx 50 clients.
What would change this call
Devoteam discloses whether it hit the 12% AI-revenue milestone by end-2024 under Amplify 2028. Shows whether the AI pivot is on track or the core business is stalling.
Devoteam's headcount growth versus revenue-per-consultant trend in FY2025/FY2026 filings. Flat or falling revenue per head with rising headcount would show AI-driven margin pressure.
News of a KKR/Castillon exit event (IPO filing, sale, or secondary placement) in 2026-2028. Would confirm the ownership timeline driving near-term strategic decisions.
Key numbers
  • FY2023 revenue €1,130m, 10.5% operating margin (2024-03-05)
  • Targeting €2bn revenue, 50% AI-related by 2028 (2025-02-14)
  • 11,000+ employees across 25+ EMEA locations (2026-06-25)
Named risks
  • Core billable-hours delivery work (migration, config, QA) is directly automatable by AI, per Devoteam's own '4x faster' marketing (2026-02-05). Severity: high
  • Hyperscaler professional-services arms (AWS, Google, Microsoft) compete for the same delivery contracts Devoteam depends on for ~50% of revenue. Severity: high
  • KKR/Castillon-controlled private ownership means equity outcomes depend on exit timing, not franchise durability. Severity: medium
  • No audited FY2024/FY2025 revenue or headcount figures published, reducing financial transparency since 2021 delisting. Severity: medium
  • Small restructuring (14 Lithuania roles cut, Jan 2026) could presage broader efficiency cuts if AI margin pressure grows. Severity: low

Questions people ask
Is Devoteam profitable in 2026?
Devoteam's last detailed public results are FY2023: revenue €1,130m with 10.5% operating margin (€118.3m), reported 2024-03-05. No audited FY2024 or FY2025 figures have been published since it went private in 2021, so current profitability cannot be independently confirmed.
Is Devoteam laying off staff?
Devoteam cut 14 roles in a Lithuania restructuring in January 2026, but overall core headcount grew 15.2% year over year to 8,613 by December 2025 (Revelio Labs), and job postings rose 31.4% to 1,720 in 2025, suggesting selective, not broad, cuts.
Could AI replace Devoteam's consulting work?
Much of Devoteam's billable work, cloud migration scripting, config, QA, documentation, is directly automatable by hyperscaler AI tools; Devoteam itself markets '4x faster project completion' via its own AI accelerators as of 2026-02-05, showing the core delivery model is already being compressed.
Who owns Devoteam?
Devoteam is private. Holding company Castillon, backed by KKR and the founding de Bentzmann brothers, owns roughly 85 to 86% following a 2024-11-07 tender offer after the 2021 delisting. Saudi-linked Solutions by stc separately holds 40% of Devoteam's Middle East entity since February 2024.
Who is Devoteam's biggest competitor?
Devoteam competes with Accenture, Capgemini, TCS, Infosys and Deloitte for the same enterprise cloud and AI transformation accounts, while hyperscaler professional-services arms (AWS ProServe, Google Cloud PS, Microsoft PS) increasingly bid directly for delivery contracts Devoteam previously held exclusively.
Will Devoteam hit its Amplify 2028 AI revenue targets?
Devoteam's Amplify 2028 plan targets 50% of revenue from AI-related projects by 2028, up from 5% in 2023, with an interim 12% target by end-2024. No public data confirms whether the 12% milestone was met as of mid-2026.
