The call

DoubleVerify still checks the ads that platforms would rather check themselves, and growth is slowing as more of that checking moves onto their turf.

DoubleVerify checks whether online ads are real, not fake, and whether they reach actual people instead of bots. It is hard to replace because advertisers trust it to be independent from the platforms themselves, since the platforms have a reason to lie about their own numbers. But Facebook, TikTok, Google, and Amazon are now building their own checking tools inside their own services, and advertisers are moving their spending there anyway, which means DoubleVerify is getting squeezed out and its growth has slowed from 14 percent down to 7 percent. The company's credibility also took a hit in March 2025 when a report accused it of missing bot fraud. The one thing that could save the picture is if big companies keep trusting DoubleVerify's independent checks even when the platforms offer their own, but right now that looks unlikely.

Why
01
AI pressure: Platform-native AI measurement tools (Meta Advantage+, Google Performance Max, TikTok Symphony). Platforms build their own AI to grade their own ads, cutting the reason advertisers pay an outside checker like DoubleVerify. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Meta, Google/YouTube, TikTok, Amazon. Ad dollars keep shifting into walled gardens where these platforms set the terms and DoubleVerify plugs in as a guest, not a gatekeeper. Could a giant copy it? Probably.
03
What protects it. MRC accreditation and advertiser distrust of letting a platform grade its own ads keep independent verification in demand.

Questions people ask
Is DoubleVerify profitable in 2026?
Yes but thinly. Q1 2026 net income was $6.4M on revenue of $180.8M (up 10% YoY), with Adjusted EBITDA of $55.2M (31% margin), reported May 6, 2026. FY2026 guidance targets $810-826M revenue at roughly 34% EBITDA margin.
Could AI replace DoubleVerify?
DV's core work (fraud detection, content classification, brand safety) is itself an AI/ML workload, so platforms like Meta, Google/YouTube, and TikTok building native AI measurement could disintermediate DV inside their own walled gardens, per a May 2026 investigative report and DV's own risk disclosures.
Who is DoubleVerify's biggest competitor?
Integral Ad Science (IAS) is DV's closest rival, forming a widely cited duopoly in independent ad verification. IAS reported roughly $550M revenue in early 2025 and was taken private by Novacap, per a March 2026 competitive analysis.
Has DoubleVerify's stock crashed?
Yes. As of July 21, 2026, DV traded in a 52-week range of $7.64 to $16.82, far below its all-time high of $48.42, a decline of roughly 65-85% driven by three guidance cuts in Feb 2024, May 2024, and Feb 2025.
Who owns DoubleVerify?
DoubleVerify is publicly traded on the NYSE (ticker DV) with a market cap of about $1.77B as of July 21, 2026. Providence Equity Partners, majority owner since an August 2017 buyout, reportedly reduced its stake to under 5% by early 2026 (vendor-claimed).
Did DoubleVerify have a fraud scandal?
In March 2025, Adalytics Research alleged DoubleVerify billed customers for ad impressions served to bots from known data-center server farms, undermining its core fraud-verification claims. A related securities class action (S.D.N.Y. 1:25-cv-04332) covers Nov 2023 to Feb 2025.
