The call

E2open's network and trade data still work, but WiseTech's cost cuts and AI-armed ERP rivals are testing whether that's enough to keep it valuable.

E2open helps companies manage their supply chains by connecting multiple businesses and organizing trade data. It is hard to replace because it has real relationships with big customers and years of detailed trade information that competitors like SAP and Oracle do not have, but those giants are now adding AI tools that can do some of E2open's work automatically. The big question is whether WiseTech will keep E2open's network and data teams strong or shrink them to cut costs, which would leave the company vulnerable to being replaced by SAP, Oracle, or other rivals over the next year or two.

Why
01
AI pressure: SAP Joule and Oracle Fusion SCM agents. SAP Joule and Oracle's agents now auto-classify trade data and forecast demand, work E2open staff used to bill hours for. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: SAP, Oracle (ERP-embedded supply chain AI). SAP and Oracle bundle supply chain AI into ERP suites customers already own, squeezing standalone platforms like E2open. Could a giant copy it? Probably.
03
What protects it. Its 60,000+ trading-partner network and proprietary trade-compliance data are hard to copy inside a generic ERP module.
What would change this call
WiseTech FY26 full-year results show whether E2open EBITDA margin recovers from 38% or falls further. Reveals if restructuring is stabilizing E2open or hollowing it out.
Reports specify whether the 50% headcount cut lands on trade-data/network teams or forecasting/services staff. Shows whether WiseTech is preserving or gutting E2open's core data moat.
Any disclosed customer losses or contract non-renewals from E2open's blue-chip base to SAP, Oracle, or Kinaxis. Would show rivals actually converting E2open's turmoil into market share gains.

Questions people ask
Who owns E2open now?
E2open is a wholly owned subsidiary of Australia's WiseTech Global. WiseTech agreed to buy E2open for $3.30 a share, a $2.1 billion enterprise value fully funded by debt, announced May 25, 2025 and closed August 4, 2025, delisting E2open Parent Holdings (ETWO) from the NYSE.
Is E2open laying off employees in 2026?
Yes. On February 25, 2026, parent WiseTech Global announced roughly 2,000 job cuts (about 29% of the combined ~7,000-person workforce) over 18 to 24 months, saying the E2open division specifically may see cuts of up to 50%, framed as an AI-driven restructuring.
Is E2open profitable in 2026?
E2open's own results are folded into WiseTech now. WiseTech's H1 FY26 (to Dec 31, 2025) group net profit fell 36% to $68.1M on E2open integration costs, even as revenue jumped 76% YoY to $672M; E2open's EBITDA margin compressed from 51% to 38% during integration.
Could AI replace what E2open does?
Parts of it. E2open's own compliance classification, trade-content summarization, and forecasting tools (launched March 26, 2025, claiming up to 90% manual-effort reduction) are the same workflows WiseTech is now automating; its network effects and trade data are the harder-to-replace pieces.
Who is E2open's biggest competitor?
In supply chain planning, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder and o9 Solutions compete directly; SAP and Oracle threaten via their own ERP-embedded networks (SAP Ariba/Business Network, Oracle Fusion SCM agents). Nucleus Research's July 14, 2026 Enterprise SCP Value Matrix still ranks E2open a Leader alongside these rivals.
Is E2open still a publicly traded company?
No. E2open Parent Holdings, Inc. traded as ETWO on the NYSE until WiseTech Global's $2.1 billion acquisition closed on August 4, 2025, at which point E2open was delisted and became a private subsidiary of ASX-listed WiseTech Global.
