The call

Fibe is a profitable, licensed lender heading toward an IPO in a crowded field of similarly licensed rivals, with unsecured credit risk as the main thing to watch.

Fibe lends small amounts to everyday Indians through its phone app, making money by charging interest on personal loans. It is hard to copy only because Indian regulators require expensive licenses and capital reserves, but five similar competitors (KreditBee, MoneyView, Kissht, CASHe) already have those same licenses and operate in the exact same way, so there is no real edge. The biggest threat is not AI or banks but a sharp economic downturn: three-quarters of Fibe's loans are unsecured personal loans that default quickly when people lose jobs, and the company's losses from bad loans already equaled 1.6 times its yearly profit, meaning one bad recession could wipe out years of earnings.

Why
01
AI pressure: None apparent. AI-driven underwriting is now standard across Fibe and every rival lender, not a threat singling Fibe out. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: KreditBee, MoneyView, Kissht/OnEMI, CASHe. Several well-funded direct rivals run near-identical app lending products in the same small-ticket segment as Fibe. Could a giant copy it? Probably.
03
What protects it. RBI NBFC license, four straight profitable years, and improving asset quality, though rivals hold similar licenses too.
What would change this call
Fibe's 90+ day delinquency ratio in next quarterly or annual filing after March 2026. Rising delinquency would signal credit-cycle stress hitting its unsecured loan book.
MoneyView's IPO pricing and listing performance versus Fibe's DRHP valuation ask. Weak rival listing could pressure Fibe's own IPO valuation and signal sector-wide investor caution.
Kissht/OnEMI's stock performance and Fibe's AUM growth rate in filings after its IPO. If Fibe's AUM growth slows while Kissht gains, it would show a rival taking share.

Questions people ask
Is Fibe (formerly EarlySalary) profitable?
Yes. Fibe posted net profit of Rs 257.5 crore in FY26, up 126% year over year, on revenue of Rs 1,584.6 crore, up 31% YoY, as of February 15, 2026. The company reports four consecutive profitable years as of its December 2025 Series F announcement.
Is Fibe planning an IPO?
Yes. Parent entity Social Worth Technologies filed a Draft Red Herring Prospectus with SEBI on June 29, 2026, seeking a fresh issue of up to Rs 750 crore plus an offer for sale of about 4.01 crore shares by investors including TPG, Norwest, and Piramal Finance.
Who are Fibe's biggest competitors?
Fibe's closest rivals are KreditBee, MoneyView, CASHe, and Kissht (OnEMI Technologies). Kissht already listed in 2026 with shares up over 63% from issue price and a market cap near Rs 4,698 crore as of June 30, 2026, though its AUM of about Rs 5,956 crore trails Fibe's Rs 8,603 crore.
Could AI replace Fibe's lending business?
Not directly. Fibe already runs AI and ML across onboarding, underwriting, fraud detection and collections per its June 2026 DRHP, but its RBI NBFC license (via subsidiary EarlySalary Services) and lender of record liability legally block pure AI entrants from originating loans in India.
What is Fibe's biggest financial risk?
Credit-impairment costs hit Rs 420 crore in FY26, 1.6 times net profit, while 77.38% of AUM as of March 31, 2026 sits in unsecured personal loans. A macro consumer-credit downturn would hit this book first, per the company's own DRHP risk disclosures.
How much funding has Fibe raised in total?
Fibe has raised over $266 million in total equity including secondaries as of its Series F round, a $35 million raise led by IFC announced December 9, 2025. Earlier rounds included a roughly $110 million Series D in August 2022 and a $90 million Series E in June 2024.
