The call

Huize keeps growing revenue and customers while its stock sits near a delisting line, squeezed between tiny market value and giant-owned distribution.

Huize Holding sells insurance online in China and Southeast Asia, matching customers with insurance companies through its website and app. It is hard to copy because China requires a special government license to broker insurance, and Huize has one. However, Ant Group (which runs Alipay) and Tencent (which runs WeChat) have the same license plus hundreds of millions more customers they can reach for free, so they can sell insurance cheaper and faster than Huize can. The one thing that could change the picture is if Huize's stock price stays below $5 million in value for 30 days, because then the Nasdaq stock exchange will kick it off automatically, making it nearly impossible to raise money or survive.

Why
01
AI pressure: Ant Group's AI-driven insurance advisor inside Alipay. AI chat tools inside Alipay and WeChat could let users compare and buy policies without ever reaching Huize's app. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Ant Insurance (Ant Group) and WeSure (Tencent). Both giants hold the same brokerage licenses as Huize but reach hundreds of millions of users through Alipay and WeChat directly. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. China VIE brokerage license, a Singapore MAS license, 158 insurer partners, and 95%+ policy persistency.
What would change this call
Huize's Nasdaq market cap stays above or falls below $5M for 30 consecutive days after July 23, 2026. Shows whether Huize faces imminent forced Nasdaq auto-delisting.
Poni Insurtech reports actual ASEAN revenue or new carrier partnerships within 12 months. Shows whether Singapore/Vietnam expansion is real business, not just a license.
Ant Insurance or Tencent WeSure announce new standalone brokerage products in China life/health insurance. Would show giants escalating direct competition against Huize's core market.

Questions people ask
Is Huize Holding profitable in 2026?
Huize's FY2025 unaudited results (announced 2026-03-27) showed GAAP net profit of just RMB4.0M on RMB1,582.2M revenue, but non-GAAP net profit hit RMB22.6M, up 169% YoY, marking a third straight year of non-GAAP profitability.
Could Ant Group or Tencent replace Huize?
Not entirely, since insurance brokerage requires licenses Huize already holds, but Ant Insurance (Alipay) and Tencent WeSure compete for the same customer traffic with far greater scale and lower customer acquisition cost than Huize's 12.3M cumulative clients as of Dec 31, 2025.
Is Huize Holding at risk of being delisted from Nasdaq?
Yes. Huize's market cap sat near $10 to 12 million as of July 24, 2026, close to a new SEC-approved Nasdaq rule effective July 23, 2026 that allows near-immediate delisting for issuers whose market value stays below $5 million for 30 consecutive days.
Who controls Huize Holding?
CEO and Chairman Cunjun Ma held roughly 72% of aggregate voting power as of February 28, 2023, via a family trust vehicle, giving him effective control of the Nasdaq-listed company despite public shareholders.
Is it safe to invest in or join Huize Holding right now?
It is high risk: HUIZ stock fell 54 to 56% over the trailing year to around $10 to 12 million market cap as of July 24, 2026, institutional ownership is only about 1%, and the stock underwent a 1-for-5 reverse split in December 2024 to stay Nasdaq-compliant.
What is Huize Holding's biggest competitor?
Ant Insurance (via Alipay) and Tencent WeSure are the most structurally advantaged rivals, holding similar brokerage access but with vastly greater platform traffic and lower customer acquisition costs than Huize, which had 12.3 million cumulative clients as of Dec 31, 2025.
