The call

Interroll still sells the parts that make warehouses move, but the money is shifting to whoever tells those parts what to do.

Interroll makes conveyor rollers and related mechanical parts for warehouses and factories, with customers that have used its equipment for decades. The company has stayed independent partly because bigger rivals like Daifuku and Dematic would face conflict selling against their own integrated systems, but now the real money is moving into software that controls and optimizes these machines rather than the physical hardware itself. Interroll has bought software companies (MCP PLAY, Sortteq) to keep up, but if it cannot convince customers that its bundled hardware plus software beats what Daifuku or Dematic sell directly, it risks becoming just the cheap parts supplier while others pocket the margin from orchestration and artificial intelligence layers.

Why
01
AI pressure: AI-driven warehouse orchestration software from integrators like Dematic and Vanderlande. Software brains that route pallets and parcels are where margin is going, and Interroll mostly sells the arms and legs. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Daifuku, Dematic (KION), Vanderlande (Toyota). These three integrators hold 26-32% combined share and increasingly bundle their own hardware with the software customers actually pay up for. Could a giant copy it? Probably.
03
What protects it. Staying neutral lets integrators buy its rollers and motors without arming a direct competitor, a position pure hardware rivals can copy but integrators cannot without conflict.

Aftermarket (Global Lifetime Services) share of sales reported above 17% in a coming annual report. would show recurring service revenue offsetting hardware commoditization.

Questions people ask
Is Interroll profitable in 2026?
Yes, but shrinking. H2 2025 net profit was CHF 34.7 million, down 10.1% year-on-year, on revenue of CHF 266.5 million (-4.7%). Full-year 2025 sales were CHF 514.2 million, down 2.5% from 2024, per Interroll's March 2026 annual report.
Is Interroll losing to Daifuku?
Interroll holds an estimated 5-7% share of the conveyor systems market versus Daifuku's 13-15%, per MarketsandMarkets. Daifuku, Dematic/KION, and Vanderlande all bundle software and robotics with conveyors, a broader offering Interroll's component-focused model does not match as of 2026.
Could AI replace Interroll's products?
Not directly, since Interroll makes physical rollers, drives, and sorters that require installation and servicing. The risk is value migration: AI-driven warehouse orchestration software is where margin is concentrating, per a January 2026 industry retrospective, a layer larger integrators own more of than Interroll.
Who owns Interroll?
Interroll Holding AG is an independent public company listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange (ticker INRN) since 1997, with no parent company. Market capitalization was roughly CHF 1.07 billion as of mid-2026, per gurufocus.com.
What is Interroll's biggest competitor?
Daifuku is the largest, holding an estimated 13-15% of the conveyor systems market versus Interroll's 5-7%, per MarketsandMarkets research. Other major rivals include Dematic (owned by KION), Vanderlande (owned by Toyota Industries), BEUMER Group, SSI Schaefer, and TGW Group.
Is Interroll growing again after its 2022 peak?
Partially. Revenue fell from a CHF 664.4 million peak in 2022 to CHF 514.2 million in 2025, but order intake rose 9.2% in local currency for the full year and 12.1% in H2 2025, signaling a possible recovery ahead of H1 2026 results due July 31, 2026.
