The call

Klook is a fast-growing Asia-based experiences booker with under 1% global share, a stalled IPO, and no visible spot yet in Google's AI trip planner.

Klook is a marketplace that lets people book tours, attractions, and experiences in Asia and beyond. It has built real scale and local connections with thousands of small vendors across the region, which is genuinely hard to replicate quickly. But the company is tiny compared to Booking.com, Viator, and GetYourGuide, and it faces two urgent threats: bigger travel platforms are copying its playbook and spending more money to do it, and Google is now using AI to plan trips for people and steering them toward booking partners, but Klook is not on that list yet. The one thing that matters most is whether Google's AI travel planner adds Klook as a booking option for Asia-Pacific activities. If it does, Klook survives but earns less per booking. If Google keeps routing those bookings to Viator, Booking.com, or directly to vendors instead, Klook loses its front door to customers and becomes much less valuable.

Why
01
AI pressure: Google AI Mode trip-planning. Google's AI trip planner already books through named partners across 200+ countries, and Klook isn't one of them. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Booking.com and Viator (Tripadvisor). Booking.com and Viator run bigger, better-funded booking platforms in the same experiences category Klook competes in. Could a giant copy it? Probably.
03
What protects it. Deep local merchant relationships and payment rails across Asia give Klook supply density rivals would need years to copy.
What would change this call
Klook becomes a named partner inside Google AI Mode or similar AI trip-planning agents within 12 months. Shows whether the AI discovery layer feeds bookings to Klook or routes around it to rivals.
Klook's IPO prices successfully or is delayed or withdrawn a second time. Shows whether public markets accept Klook's growth and profitability story.
Klook's quarterly gross-bookings growth rate falls below 20% versus the current 31%. Would suggest discovery-layer erosion or share loss to Viator, GetYourGuide, or Trip.com.

Questions people ask
Is Klook profitable in 2026?
No. Klook posted a net loss of $141.5M for the first nine months of 2025 on revenue of $407.4M, per its November 2025 SEC F-1 filing. It reportedly hit cash-flow positivity in mid-2023, but the F-1 shows losses widening again through 2025.
When will Klook's IPO happen?
Unclear. Klook filed Form F-1 on November 10, 2025 targeting $300-500M on the NYSE under ticker KLK, then delayed the listing to 'early 2026' in December 2025 citing weak debuts like Navan. As of July 15, 2026, no new date has been announced.
Who owns Klook?
Klook is privately held and venture-backed, with investors including SoftBank Vision Fund, Sequoia/HongShan, Vitruvian Partners, Bessemer, and BPEA EQT. Its most recent round was a $100M Series F led by Vitruvian Partners, closed February 11, 2025. Total funding is roughly $1.0-1.3B.
Could AI replace Klook or its booking business?
Google's AI trip-planning tools (Canvas/AI Mode) expanded to 200+ countries by January 2026 and link to booking partners like OpenTable and Ticketmaster, but Klook is not named among them as of January 7, 2026, exposing its discovery-layer role to disintermediation.
Who is Klook's biggest competitor?
Viator (owned by Tripadvisor) is cited as the tours-and-activities category leader by web traffic as of June 2026. GetYourGuide, Booking.com, Trip.com, and Yanolja are also named rivals in Klook's own November 2025 IPO filing.
Is Klook a safe company to join in 2026?
Klook is a growth-stage company with roughly 1,900-2,000 employees as of mid-2025/2026 and 31% year-over-year gross bookings growth to $2.3B for the nine months ended September 30, 2025, but it has delayed its IPO twice and posted a $141.5M net loss over that same period.
