The call

Knowify runs a real niche business on top of Intuit's plumbing, and its future rides on whether Intuit builds around it or over it.

Knowify makes accounting and job-tracking software for construction companies, built specifically for how contractors work over the past decade and tightly connected to QuickBooks. The challenge is that Knowify does not own its own foundation: Intuit (which owns QuickBooks) could build the same features themselves, and two larger rivals named Buildertrend and BuildOps already compete directly and have more money and customers. The one thing that could change everything is whether Intuit decides to keep working with Knowify as a partner or instead builds these tools directly into their own product when they release new artificial intelligence tools in spring 2026, plus whether Knowify can raise fresh investment in the next six to twelve months to grow on its own.

Why
01
AI pressure: Intuit's Anthropic-powered agents inside Intuit Enterprise Suite. If Intuit's AI agents do job costing and WIP reporting natively, the layer Knowify sells becomes a free feature. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Intuit, plus Buildertrend and BuildOps. Intuit controls the QuickBooks pipe Knowify depends on, while Buildertrend and BuildOps chase the same trade contractors at greater scale. Could a giant copy it? Probably.
03
What protects it. Ten years of contractor-specific workflow logic and a deep QuickBooks integration that would take real time to rebuild elsewhere.
What would change this call
Intuit adds native job costing or WIP tracking inside QuickBooks or Enterprise Suite. Would show Intuit absorbing Knowify's core function rather than relying on it as a partner.
Knowify announces a new funding round beyond the 2023 Series A-II. Would show investor confidence returning after a 37-month funding stall.
Change in Knowify's referral or marketplace status within Intuit's app ecosystem. Would show whether Intuit's partnership support is strengthening or weakening.

Questions people ask
Is Knowify profitable in 2026?
Knowify is a private company with no disclosed financials or audited revenue figures. Its last publicly announced funding was a $5.45M Series A in November 2021 led by MassMutual Ventures and Companyon Ventures; no profitability data has been made public as of 2026.
Who owns Knowify?
Knowify is an independent, privately held, venture-backed company co-founded by CEO Marc Visent and CTO/COO Daniel de Roulet in New York City. It has no parent company and is not publicly traded, with investors including MassMutual Ventures, Companyon Ventures, and Dreamit Ventures.
Could AI replace Knowify's software?
Knowify itself launched an MCP-based AI Connector in mid-2026 letting Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok query live job-costing data, read-only at launch. But its partner Intuit is rolling out its own Anthropic-powered AI agents inside QuickBooks Enterprise Suite in spring 2026, a direct threat to Knowify's reporting layer.
Who is Knowify's biggest competitor?
Buildertrend and BuildOps are Knowify's closest direct rivals in trade-contractor job costing and project management, both larger and better funded. Procore Technologies, a public company that dominates general construction management software, sits adjacent to Knowify's niche.
Does Knowify integrate with accounting software other than QuickBooks?
No. Knowify explicitly states it does not integrate with any accounting software besides QuickBooks Online, per its own site as of February 2025. This deep QBO/Intuit Enterprise Suite sync is central to its product but also makes it dependent on Intuit's platform roadmap.
What is Knowify's AI Connector?
Launched around May-June 2026, Knowify's AI Connector uses the Model Context Protocol to let Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok query live project and financial data inside Knowify. It was read-only at launch, with write capability described by the company as planned but not yet shipped.
