The call

Legit Security holds analyst-recognized ASPM leadership and enterprise logos, but headcount, traffic, and funding all point to a company running in place while its biggest partner, CrowdStrike, buys the category around it.

Legit Security helps companies spot and fix risky code before problems happen. The problem is that CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks, which already sell security tools to the same customers, can add this feature to their products in a few months, and they have no reason not to. Meanwhile, AI tools are getting better at doing the actual work of finding and ranking code problems, which is Legit's core job. The one thing that could change the picture is if CrowdStrike decides to buy Legit outright in the next year or so, which would turn it into part of a bigger company instead of a standalone business.

Why
01
AI pressure: ArmorCode's Anya AI engine and AI coding assistants (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code) generating code faster than triage can keep up. AI models now do the correlation and prioritization work ASPM tools used to sell, while AI-written code multiplies the flaws needing review. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike ships Falcon Cloud Security ASPM natively and spent over $1.1B on SGNL, Seraphic, and XM Cyber IP in 2025-2026 alone. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Deep integrations and workflow lock-in at logos like Google, NYSE, and Kraft Heinz that are costly for security teams to rip out.
What would change this call
CrowdStrike announces a Falcon-native agentic-code-security or MCP-security feature within 6-9 months. Would confirm CrowdStrike is absorbing Legit's core function into its platform.
Legit Security announces a Series C round or an acquisition by CrowdStrike or another buyer within 6-12 months. An up-round would show independent viability; an acquisition or down-round would confirm the fade scenario.
Legit Security's headcount or web traffic figures reverse into growth in its next reported period. Would indicate the current contraction has stopped and demand is recovering.
Key numbers
  • $77M raised total, no Series C since Sept 2023 (2023-09-20)
  • Headcount down 14% YoY to 89 employees (2026-06-29)
  • CrowdStrike spent $1.17B+ on ASPM-adjacent deals (2026-07-20)
Named risks
  • No Series C raised roughly 34 months after last round while headcount and traffic decline. Severity: high
  • Platform giants CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks can bundle equivalent ASPM features without structural barriers. Severity: high
  • Core triage/correlation/remediation workflow is automatable by frontier AI and competitor AI engines like ArmorCode's Anya. Severity: high
  • Revenue estimates diverge 10x across trackers, indicating limited independent visibility into actual traction. Severity: medium
  • Headcount down 14% YoY and web traffic down 36% QoQ signal possible distress or slow fade. Severity: medium

Questions people ask
Is Legit Security profitable and growing in 2026?
No profitability data is disclosed. Headcount fell 14% YoY to 89 employees by June 2026 and web traffic dropped 36% quarter over quarter, per Crustdata data dated 2026-06-29, suggesting stagnation rather than growth.
Has Legit Security raised a Series C round?
No. Legit Security's last disclosed raise was a $40M Series B in September 2023, led by CRV, bringing total funding to $77M. As of mid-2026, roughly 34 months later, no Series C has been announced.
Could AI replace Legit Security's core product?
Legit's core ASPM tasks, alert triage, deduplication, correlation and remediation suggestions, are the same pattern-matching workflows competitor AI engines like ArmorCode's Anya already automate at 40B+ findings processed, as of 2026-04-19.
Who are Legit Security's biggest competitors?
Direct ASPM peers include Apiiro, Cycode, ArmorCode, OX Security and Snyk. Platform giants CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks also ship overlapping ASPM features, and CrowdStrike is already a Legit marketplace integration partner as of 2026-04-20.
Will CrowdStrike acquire Legit Security?
No acquisition has been announced. Legit is a CrowdStrike marketplace/technology partner via Falcon Cloud Security integration as of 2026-04-20, while CrowdStrike made 5+ separate cybersecurity acquisitions in 2025-2026, including SGNL for $750M and Seraphic for $420M.
How much revenue does Legit Security generate?
No audited revenue is disclosed. Third-party estimates diverge widely: ZoomInfo cites $15.1M (2026-07-06), SignalHire estimates $10M-$50M, and Growjo estimates just $3.5M, an order-of-magnitude spread indicating low confidence in any figure.
