The call

Litify has real customers and real lock-in, but it runs its entire business on Salesforce's rails, and Salesforce now builds the AI tools Litify needs to stay relevant.

Litify helps law firms manage cases and clients using Salesforce as its foundation, making it hard for customers to switch because their workflows are deeply embedded. The problem is that Litify rents its entire platform from Salesforce, which now sells its own competing legal tools called Agentforce, and Clio, the market leader with 150,000+ users, is moving upmarket and could eventually offer enterprise-grade features that Litify has. The one thing that could stabilize or sink Litify: whether Salesforce decides to help Litify compete fairly or starts treating it as a rival and locks down access.

Why
01
AI pressure: Supio and Billables AI (Litify's own AI partners). Litify bolts on partner AI for now, but if Supio or Billables AI go direct to firms, Litify loses its newest selling point. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Salesforce. Litify runs entirely on Salesforce, and Salesforce is shipping its own Agentforce AI tools that could turn the landlord into a legal-software competitor. Could a giant copy it? Probably.
03
What protects it. Deep workflow lock-in at firms like Morgan & Morgan, where ripping out case management mid-litigation is costly and risky.
What would change this call
Salesforce announces a Legal Cloud or ships native Agentforce legal templates for law firms. Would show Salesforce moving from partner to direct competitor against Litify.
Clio launches a serious enterprise tier or names Litify client logos as competitive wins. Would show Litify losing enterprise customers to the market leader.
Litify discloses ARR or logo counts showing sustained sub-33M revenue stagnation. Would show the growth narrative is not materializing into real scale.

  • AI feature partners Supio and Billables AI could bypass Litify and sell direct to law firms. Severity: medium
  • Clio's upmarket move via vLex/Fastcase could erode Litify's enterprise positioning. Severity: medium
  • No disclosed audited revenue; reliance on self-reported growth percentages for Inc. 5000 and Deloitte rankings. Severity: medium
  • Headcount volatility, dipping to about 144 employees in Sept 2024, signals uneven organizational scaling. Severity: low

Questions people ask
Is Litify profitable in 2026?
Litify announced it had reached profitability on February 9, 2023, the same day Bessemer Venture Partners acquired a majority stake in the company. No later disclosure has reversed that profitability claim as of mid-2026.
Who owns Litify?
Bessemer Venture Partners has held a majority stake in Litify since February 9, 2023. Co-founders John Morgan and Reuven Moskowitz remain minority investors and board members; Curtis Brewer became CEO in August 2023.
Could AI replace Litify?
Litify is racing to own AI automation itself, shipping Litify AI in August 2024 and agents like Damages Assistant, Instant Demands, and Time Capture through June 2026, but its stack depends entirely on Salesforce, whose own Agentforce tooling could commoditize the layer.
Who is Litify's biggest competitor?
Clio is the category leader with 150,000+ users claimed as of July 2026 and is expanding upmarket via its vLex/Fastcase ownership. Salesforce, the infrastructure Litify is built on, is also a structural competitive threat via its Agentforce push.
Does Litify depend on Salesforce?
Yes. Litify's entire legal operating platform is built natively on Salesforce infrastructure. In November 2025 Salesforce cited Litify as an early partner monetizing its Agentforce AI tooling, underscoring the dependency.
What is Litify's revenue?
Litify has not publicly disclosed exact revenue. It claims over 200% three-year revenue growth in its 2025 Deloitte Technology Fast 500 and Inc. 5000 rankings (November 2025), but no absolute ARR figure has been officially confirmed by the company.
