The call

Majesco keeps growing on sticky insurance systems while carrying new Vitech debt and a Thoma Bravo exit clock running in the background.

Majesco makes the computer systems that insurance companies use to sell policies, handle customer billing, and process claims. It is hard to replace because insurers have invested years connecting Majesco to their other systems and retraining staff, and because insurance is heavily regulated state by state, which means no AI chatbot can just swap in overnight. The company just bought a competitor called Vitech for a lot of money, and the next 12 months will show whether that deal actually works or creates chaos that loses customers and money.

Why
01
AI pressure: EIS, Socotra, and other AI-native core platforms. AI-native rivals chase greenfield insurers, but Majesco is folding AI and data tools into its own platform instead of losing to them. Could AI do the core job? Unlikely.
02
Bigger players: Guidewire Software. Guidewire's larger installed base and P&C dominance could eventually pull displacement deals from Majesco's 275+ carrier base. Could a giant copy it? No, they are blocked.
03
What protects it. Deep integration into carrier workflows and state regulatory filings makes ripping out the system costly and slow.
What would change this call
Reports of P&C insurers switching from Majesco to Guidewire or Duck Creek within 12 months. Would show Majesco's switching-cost moat is cracking against established rivals.
Vitech customer retention and revenue figures through end of 2026. Would show whether the Vitech acquisition is strengthening or straining Majesco's core business.
Thoma Bravo sale, IPO, or refinancing of Majesco's Oak Hill unitranche debt. Would show whether PE ownership timeline and debt load create near-term instability.

Questions people ask
Is Majesco profitable in 2026?
Majesco (vendor-claimed) reported FY2025 revenue of $300M+ with EBITDA over $100M, per its own February 3, 2026 press release. These are unaudited private-company figures since Majesco stopped filing public financials after going private in 2020.
Who owns Majesco?
Thoma Bravo has been Majesco's majority owner since completing its $594 million take-private acquisition on September 21, 2020. CVC Funds added a minority stake in November 2025 as part of the deal to acquire Vitech Systems Group, closed January 8, 2026.
Who is Majesco's biggest competitor?
Guidewire Software is Majesco's biggest competitor in P&C core systems, widely cited as the dominant enterprise-scale incumbent with the deepest completed migrations and largest installed base as of mid-2026. Duck Creek Technologies and Sapiens also compete for the same insurer accounts.
Could AI replace Majesco's software?
Unlikely near-term: core policy, billing, and claims systems are locked in by regulatory compliance and multi-year switching costs, so Majesco embeds AI (Majesco Copilot launched Oct 2024, agentic features by Apr 2026) as a feature rather than being displaced by frontier models.
What did Majesco acquire in 2026?
Majesco closed its acquisition of Vitech Systems Group on January 8, 2026, expanding from P&C and life/annuity into group benefits and pension/retirement administration, financed by a private unitranche debt facility led by Oak Hill Advisors.
How big is Majesco's customer base?
Majesco (vendor-claimed) says it serves 375+ customers as of its February 3, 2026 release, including 275+ P&C insurers and 100+ life/annuity/health and pension providers, following the January 2026 close of the Vitech acquisition.
