The call

MingYuan cut its way to a small profit in a real estate market that keeps shrinking, while bigger rivals already ship the AI features it would need to grow again.

MingYuan Cloud makes accounting and sales software for Chinese real estate companies. It is hard to replace because it knows its customers well and has built-in connections throughout the region, but bigger software makers like Kingdee and Yonyou are moving in with AI tools that can do the same work, and general artificial intelligence services from Alibaba and others are making custom software less necessary. The company's revenue has been cut in half since 2021 because the Chinese property market itself has shrunk, and the real question is whether it can stabilize or if it will keep losing ground to larger competitors.

Why
01
AI pressure: Kingdee and Yonyou AI agents plus Alibaba Cloud/Qwen agent platforms. Rivals have shipped AI agents into CRM, cost and procurement workflows that MingYuan built its business on. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: Kingdee International Software Group and Yonyou. Bigger horizontal ERP players with AI suites already live are pushing into the templated workflows MingYuan specializes in. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Deep embedded data and channel relationships with property developers give some switching friction, but the market itself is shrinking.

H1 2026 results (late Aug 2026): Cloud Services revenue YoY trend narrows or widens. Shows whether core business is stabilizing or still shrinking structurally.

Questions people ask
Is MingYuan Cloud profitable in 2025?
Yes. MingYuan Cloud posted FY2025 net profit of RMB30.3 million versus a loss in FY2024, even as revenue fell 10.5% YoY to RMB1.28 billion. The swing to profit came mainly from cost cuts, including a 13% headcount reduction to 1,663 employees, not from revenue growth (as of 2025-12-31).
Could AI replace MingYuan Cloud's software?
Partly contested. MingYuan's core CRM, cost and procurement workflows are templated and rules-based, exactly what rival Kingdee's AI Suite/Cosmic Agent 2.0 and Alibaba Cloud's Agent Native Cloud (launched 2026-07-18) target. MingYuan has only vague 'leveraging AI' claims and a small Japan IoT acquisition, no named shipped AI product as of mid-2026.
Who is MingYuan Cloud's biggest competitor?
Kingdee International Software Group and Yonyou, both larger horizontal Chinese ERP vendors, are the closest rivals. Kingdee has publicly stated it ranks #1 in China's SaaS cloud services market (vendor claim, 2025-01-16) and shipped AI Suite and Cosmic Agent 2.0 features by mid-2026, encroaching on MingYuan's vertical workflows.
Who owns MingYuan Cloud Group?
Founder and Chairman Gao Yu is the controlling shareholder, holding 377,423,600 shares (roughly 19-20%) via GHTongRui Investment Limited as of 2025-12-31. Institutional holders include China Merchants Fund Management (~3.09%) and Vanguard Group (~1.86%) as of 2026-04-16.
How far has MingYuan Cloud's stock fallen?
MingYuan Cloud's stock hit an all-time high of HK$60.80 but traded in a 52-week range of just HK$1.19 to HK$4.83 as of mid-2026, over a 90% decline from peak. Market cap fluctuated between roughly HK$2.4 billion and HK$4.4 billion in late 2025 and 2026.
Is the China property market recovery helping MingYuan Cloud?
There are only tentative signs. MingYuan Cloud swung to a RMB30.3 million FY2025 profit reported 2026-03-18 amid commentary that China's property market is 'showing signs of bottoming,' but Cloud Services revenue still fell 14.3% YoY in H1 2025, so the recovery is unconfirmed.
