The call

Moglix keeps its industrial supply and lending business running while growth slows and its 2022 valuation waits to be tested against OfBusiness and its own India IPO.

Moglix connects factories and businesses with 20,000+ suppliers for things like machine parts and tools, offering lending and delivery to 25,000+ locations. It is hard to copy because it has built relationships with thousands of suppliers, holds a finance license, and has gotten factories locked into its ordering system, but the business of buying low and selling high in industrial supplies makes almost no money. OfBusiness, a bigger competitor with $5 billion in backing, is racing toward an initial public offering and could win by moving faster, so the real test will be whether Moglix can reach profitability before its own stock offering in late 2026 or early 2027, and whether investors still believe the business is worth the $2.6 billion they valued it at four years ago.

Why
01
AI pressure: None apparent. No AI agent yet automates bulk industrial procurement or supplier matching at Moglix's scale; risk stays theoretical for now. Could AI do the core job? Unlikely.
02
Bigger players: OfBusiness. OfBusiness runs the same India B2B model at roughly double Moglix's valuation and is further along toward an IPO. Could a giant copy it? Probably.
03
What protects it. RBI-licensed lending arm Credlix, a 20,000+ supplier network, and enterprise workflow lock-in with buyers like Tata Steel and ITC.

Questions people ask
Is Moglix profitable in 2026?
Not yet. Moglix's FY25 (ended March 2025) net loss narrowed to $11.3M from $21.7M in FY24, on operating revenue of $681.5M, up 15% year-over-year, according to filings reported August 2025. The company has not reported profitability in its 11-year history.
Who is Moglix's biggest competitor?
OfBusiness is Moglix's closest rival, valued at roughly $5B versus Moglix's $2.6B, and reportedly preparing a ~$1B IPO with Axis, JPMorgan, and Citi as bankers as of June 2025, putting it ahead in the race to list.
Is Moglix going public?
Moglix is reportedly planning to shift its domicile from Singapore to India and pursue an IPO in late 2026 or 2027, targeting an INR 500-600 crore raise, per reporting from October 2025. It appointed a CFO in April 2025 explicitly for public-market readiness.
Did Moglix lay off employees?
Yes. In January 2023, Moglix officially reported cutting 40 employees (2-3% of workforce) in an annual review, though sources told Moneycontrol the real figure could be closer to 200 (15%). It later announced plans in November 2024 to hire 500 new staff over 18 months.
Who owns Moglix?
Moglix is privately held by parent Mogli Labs Private Limited, based in Singapore, backed by investors including Ratan Tata, Tiger Global, Accel, Sequoia Capital India, and Alpha Wave Global. Its last funding round was a $250M Series F in February 2022 at a $2.6B valuation.
Could AI replace Moglix?
Not the core business. Moglix uses Google Cloud's Vertex AI and Gemini models for chatbots, cataloging, and vendor discovery, but its 20,000+ supplier network, RBI-licensed NBFC lending arm Credlix, and physical logistics to 25,000+ pin codes are not AI-replicable as of December 2025.
