The call

Nimble's growth depends almost entirely on FedEx, where Berkshire Grey and Dexterity already share the floor and humanoid robots are moving in.

Nimble Robotics makes robots that pick and pack items in warehouses, and FedEx uses them at over 130 locations. The problem is that FedEx also uses robots from two competing companies (Berkshire Grey and Dexterity) in the same warehouses, so FedEx is not locked in to Nimble. Bigger robot makers like Figure AI, Boston Dynamics, and others are now shipping working robots into warehouses too, which gives FedEx even more choices. The key thing to watch is whether FedEx keeps buying from Nimble or switches money to the other robot companies over the next year or two.

Why
01
AI pressure: Humanoid warehouse robots: Figure AI, Agility Robotics' Digit, Boston Dynamics' Electric Atlas. AI-driven humanoid robots already move totes at rival warehouses like GXO, competing for the same tasks Nimble automates. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Amazon Robotics. Amazon runs 1M+ robots but only in its own warehouses; if it opens fulfillment services to outside retailers, Nimble's pitch weakens fast. Could a giant copy it? Probably.
03
What protects it. Nimble's robots are already installed and running inside 130+ FedEx sites, and ripping out working hardware has real switching cost.
What would change this call
FedEx publicly shifts warehouse count or automation spend toward Berkshire Grey's Scoop or Dexterity. Would show Nimble losing share-of-wallet inside its anchor customer.
Figure AI, Agility Robotics, or Boston Dynamics announces a 3PL or FedEx-scale logistics partnership. Would show humanoid rivals matching Nimble's distribution at potentially lower cost.
Nimble announces a Series D round or independent revenue figure within the next year. Would confirm or undercut investor confidence and the unverified revenue claims.

Questions people ask
Is Nimble Robotics profitable in 2026?
No independently verified financials exist. Nimble's own October 2025 regulatory filing says its FedEx alliance has potential to generate several billions in annual revenue within a few years, but this is a company projection, not confirmed profit or audited revenue.
Could AI or humanoid robots replace Nimble Robotics?
Nimble builds AI picking robots itself, but faces leapfrog risk from humanoid entrants: Agility Robotics' Digit already moves 100,000+ totes at GXO and Boston Dynamics unveiled Electric Atlas for material handling at CES 2026, both competing for the same warehouse tasks.
Who is Nimble Robotics' biggest competitor?
Within its anchor FedEx account, Berkshire Grey and Dexterity are named parallel automation partners. TechCrunch reported March 31, 2026 that FedEx runs all three non-exclusively, with Berkshire Grey's Scoop unloader already rolling out since February 2026.
Is FedEx exclusive to Nimble Robotics?
No. Despite FedEx investing in Nimble in September 2024 and April 2025, TechCrunch reported March 31, 2026 that FedEx also runs Berkshire Grey (Scoop unloader) and Dexterity as parallel, non-exclusive automation partners across the same fulfillment network.
What is Nimble Robotics valued at?
Nimble was valued at $1 billion after closing a $106 million Series C round on October 23, 2024, led by FedEx and co-led by Cedar Pine LLC. Secondary-market trackers place valuation near that level as of mid-2026, though those figures are unconfirmed.
Is it risky to join Nimble Robotics right now?
Nimble depends heavily on FedEx, which shares automation spend with Berkshire Grey and Dexterity as of March 2026. Nimble also disclosed in October 2025 that US tariffs more than doubled costs on some commodity hardware components, adding cost pressure.
