The call

OroCommerce keeps the customers it already has locked into complex systems, but it has stopped growing and stopped raising money while bigger rivals sell into the same accounts.

OroCommerce sells software that helps big companies manage complex sales and orders online. It is hard to rip out because customers have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars installing it and depend on it for years, but that stickiness alone does not keep out rivals. Salesforce, Adobe, and SAP already do this work and have more money and salespeople to chase the same deals. OroCommerce has stopped growing (flat team size, traffic down), has not raised new money in over three years, and is betting that a new leader hired in mid-2026 can spark a turnaround. If the company lands big new customers and funding within the next year, it survives. If it stays flat and competitors pick off its prospects, it becomes a lifestyle business serving only existing clients.

Why
01
AI pressure: None apparent. AI shows up as OroIQ and Gemini features bolted onto the product, not as a rival eating the business yet. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Adobe Commerce (Magento), SAP Commerce Cloud, Salesforce Commerce Cloud. These giants already sell B2B commerce modules to the same enterprise buyers, with far more capital and sales reach than Oro has. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Deep, expensive implementations and multi-year contracts make switching costly once a customer is running on OroCommerce.
What would change this call
OroCommerce discloses a $40M+ funding round or major strategic partnership by end of 2026. Would show the capital gap versus better-funded peers like Spryker and commercetools is closing.
Headcount or web traffic figures for OroCommerce reverse from decline to growth in 2H 2026. Would show new CEO Jary Carter's turnaround is gaining traction, not just stalling.
A named OroCommerce enterprise customer publicly migrates to Adobe Commerce, SAP, or Salesforce. Would confirm actual customer loss to entrenched incumbents rather than mere stagnation.

Questions people ask
Is OroCommerce profitable in 2026?
No profitability figures are public. OroCommerce is privately held with third-party revenue estimates ranging widely from $7M to $32.1M (ZoomInfo ~$20.6M, Growjo ~$32.1M, as of mid-2026), and no audited financials disclosed. Last outside funding was $13M in January 2023.
Could AI replace OroCommerce?
Unlikely to replace it outright. OroCommerce is building AI (OroIQ orchestrator on Google Gemini, shipped April 2026) as an added layer atop its proprietary B2B workflow data, automating order entry and buyer chat, not eliminating the system-of-record it sells to manufacturers and distributors.
Who owns OroCommerce?
Oro, Inc. is privately held, founded 2012 by Yoav Kutner, Dima Soroka, and Jary Carter. It has raised $25M total disclosed: $12M Series A (Highland Europe, March 2016) and $13M strategic round (Zubr Capital, January 2023), with no new round disclosed since.
Who is OroCommerce's biggest competitor?
Enterprise incumbents SAP Commerce Cloud, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and Adobe Commerce (Magento) already sell B2B modules into Oro's segment. Among funded peers, commercetools (raised $300M+) and Spryker (raised $152M+) far outspend Oro's $25M total disclosed capital.
Has OroCommerce raised new funding recently?
No. Oro's last disclosed funding round was a $13M strategic growth round led by Zubr Capital in January 2023. As of the mid-2026 tracking snapshot, no new round has been publicly disclosed in over 42 months.
Who is OroCommerce's CEO?
Jary Carter, an OroCommerce co-founder, was appointed CEO on May 21, 2026, to lead 'the next phase of enterprise growth.' Founder Yoav Kutner moved to President/Chairman focused on AI strategy, while Dima Soroka continues as CTO.
