The call

Podio survives on old customer inertia inside a bigger company's balance sheet, with no shipped AI answer to rivals already building agents that do its job automatically.

Podio helps teams organize projects and tasks in one place, but Progress Software largely ignored it for ten years before reviving it in April 2025. monday.com and Airtable are both better-known competitors, and newer AI tools like Airtable Hyperagent and monday.com AI Work Platform now do similar work faster and smarter without needing Podio's setup. The one thing that could change this is if Progress Software suddenly invests real money and engineers into adding working AI features to Podio, though that would need to happen fast and work reliably.

Why
01
AI pressure: Airtable Hyperagent and monday.com AI Work Platform. AI agents will soon build custom workflows in minutes, the exact task Podio's manual app builder used to justify its price. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: monday.com. A 2025 Gartner Leader with heavy marketing spend and modern AI features actively courting Podio's small business base. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Old contracts and workflows still running inside real estate, construction, and nonprofit customers who haven't bothered to switch.
What would change this call
Progress Q2 FY2026 earnings (due ~June 30, 2026) segment commentary on ShareFile/Podio. Shows whether Progress is reinvesting in Podio or just harvesting it for cash.
Any Podio product launch of an AI-native workflow-building feature within two quarters. Would show Podio can defend against Airtable Hyperagent and monday.com AI Work Platform.
Reported Podio outages or customer churn following October 2025 billing-term changes. Would indicate accelerating customer migration to monday.com or Airtable.

Questions people ask
Who owns Podio now?
Podio is owned by Progress Software Corporation (Nasdaq: PRGS), which acquired the ShareFile business unit including Podio from Cloud Software Group for $875 million in cash on October 31, 2024. Podio was re-established as its own product line within Progress in April 2025.
Is Podio still being actively developed or is it a dead product?
Podio is not dead but was neglected for years under Citrix and Cloud Software Group. Progress re-established it as an independent product line in April 2025 with security investments and workflow-automation enhancements, though it has shipped zero AI features as of June 2026.
Could AI replace Podio?
Podio's core value, no-code app and workflow building, is exactly what AI-native agents now automate. Airtable launched Hyperagent AI agents in January 2026 and monday.com markets an AI Work Platform against Podio, while Podio itself has shipped no AI features as of mid-2026.
Is Podio profitable?
No standalone Podio financials are disclosed. Its revenue is folded into Progress Software's ShareFile business unit, which was expected to contribute over $240 million in annual revenue and 86,000+ customers at the October 31, 2024 acquisition.
Who is Podio's biggest competitor?
monday.com is the most prominent incumbent threat, a 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader for Collaborative Work Management that actively markets against Podio, calling its app-building model a maintenance burden as of May 2026. Airtable, Smartsheet, Notion, and Trello are also cited alternatives.
Is it safe to build a company workflow on Podio long-term?
Podio carries reliability and vendor-stability risk: 192 tracked outage incidents since June 2020 including a June 2026 outage, and it only regained dedicated product ownership within Progress in April 2025 after years of prior neglect under Citrix and Cloud Software Group.
