The call

ProcessUnity holds a real data asset in CyberGRX but faces flat headcount, shrinking analyst mindshare, and bigger GRC platforms circling the same customers.

ProcessUnity helps companies check up on their suppliers and partners to make sure they are safe and follow the rules. It has a real advantage: a private database of 250,000+ vendor profiles and workflows that match what regulators expect, which makes it harder for competitors to just copy the idea overnight. However, ServiceNow and OneTrust (two much bigger companies in the same space) have no reason not to build the same thing into their own platforms, and ProcessUnity's employee count is not growing even though the company claims it is. If ServiceNow or OneTrust start selling this as part of a bundle, ProcessUnity loses the main reason companies pick it over the alternative. The one thing that could change this is if ProcessUnity's owner (Marlin) decides to sell it soon as a standalone business rather than fold it into a larger platform, but that timeline is not up to ProcessUnity.

Why
01
AI pressure: AI-native TPRM entrants automating questionnaire and SOC 2 review. LLM tools could auto-fill vendor questionnaires and score controls, work ProcessUnity's staff and software currently do. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: ServiceNow and OneTrust GRC platforms. Both already sell adjacent GRC suites and could bundle vendor-risk modules to pull ProcessUnity's mid-market and enterprise deals. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. CyberGRX Global Risk Exchange holds 250,000+ vendor profiles and 14,000+ attested assessments, hard to replicate fast.
What would change this call
ServiceNow or OneTrust announces a bundled third-party-risk exchange module competing directly with CyberGRX. Shows incumbents are formally encroaching on ProcessUnity's core dataset moat.
ProcessUnity's PeerSpot mindshare falls further below 1.0% in the next survey cycle. Confirms accelerating loss of buyer consideration versus GRC incumbents.
Marlin Equity announces a secondary sale or merger of ProcessUnity. Would indicate cost extraction or exit rather than continued growth investment.

Questions people ask
Is ProcessUnity profitable in 2026?
ProcessUnity does not disclose audited financials as a private company. Third-party revenue estimates range widely from about $25M to $100M depending on tracker and date, with Seamless.ai estimating $50M to $100M as of November 2025. No profitability figures have been publicly disclosed.
Could AI replace ProcessUnity's core product?
ProcessUnity is automating its own core labor, questionnaire completion and evidence review, via its Evidence Evaluator generative AI tool launched May 2025. Its defense against pure AI commoditization is its proprietary Global Risk Exchange dataset of 250,000+ vendor profiles from the 2023 CyberGRX merger, not the workflow itself.
Who owns ProcessUnity?
ProcessUnity is majority owned by Marlin Equity Partners, which completed a growth recapitalization in September 2021. Long Ridge Equity Partners, the prior majority owner since 2018, retained a significant minority stake, per Marlin's September 27, 2021 announcement.
Is ProcessUnity's biggest competitor ServiceNow or OneTrust?
ServiceNow and OneTrust are the named platform-giant threats encroaching on ProcessUnity's third-party risk management category, alongside direct point-solution rivals Venminder, Aravo, Prevalent, and Panorays as of a June 2024 eSecurityPlanet comparison. Neither giant faces a structural barrier to bundling TPRM competitively.
Has ProcessUnity raised new funding recently?
No new funding round or M&A transaction was reported for ProcessUnity since its July 2023 CyberGRX acquisition through at least July 22, 2026, per Crustdata tracking. The company's last disclosed round was a $40M Series D in December 2019 led by Scale Venture Partners.
What makes ProcessUnity a Forrester Leader in TPRM?
ProcessUnity was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Third-Party Risk Management Platforms, Q1 2026, published March 9, 2026, earning the highest scores in the Current Offering and Strategy categories. This followed its 2023 CyberGRX merger and February 2024 platform integration.
