The call

Raydium built real scale and a new RWA distribution line, but its most profitable volume source is being pulled away in real time by a former partner turned rival.

Raydium lets people trade cryptocurrencies and newly launched tokens on the Solana blockchain. It built a big business handling meme coins (joke cryptocurrencies) as they moved from one trading platform to another, but Pump.fun created its own in-house trading system that now handles about 90 percent of that work, cutting deeply into Raydium's profits. The company is trying to replace that lost business by becoming a platform for trading real-world assets like SpaceX shares and cryptocurrency versions of stocks, but regulators may shut down that new business line before it grows large enough to matter.

Why
01
AI pressure: None apparent. AI isn't the predator here. Bots and algo traders already use Raydium's pools, they don't route around them yet. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: PumpSwap (Pump.fun) and Jupiter. PumpSwap took about 90% of meme-coin graduation volume from Raydium, and Jupiter's aggregator now routes most user traffic, treating Raydium as one interchangeable backend among many. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Deep liquidity, $1T in processed volume, and new tokenized-equity listings like SpaceX and xStocks give Raydium reach competitors haven't matched yet.
What would change this call
Raydium's share of Solana meme-coin launch/graduation volume versus PumpSwap over the next two quarters. Shows whether Raydium is winning back its core volume or continuing to lose it to PumpSwap.
Any SEC or regulator action targeting on-chain tokenized equity trading (SpaceX, Tesla, Nvidia shares) on Raydium-linked venues. Would show whether the RWA/tokenized-equity revenue line can grow or gets frozen by regulation.
Outcome of any Raydium DAO vote to raise the token buyback fee-switch allocation above 12%. Would show whether token holders can capture more of protocol revenue as volume shifts.

Questions people ask
Is Raydium profitable and does it generate real revenue?
Yes, Raydium has processed over $1 trillion in cumulative on-chain volume as of May 28, 2026, and reports lifetime protocol revenue of about $370 million as of Q1 2026, funding over $190 million in cumulative RAY token buybacks by July 10, 2026.
Is Raydium losing to PumpSwap?
Yes. As of July 8, 2026, Raydium has lost roughly 90% of meme-coin-graduation trading volume to PumpSwap, Pump.fun's in-house AMM, and RAY's token price is down about 65% from its post-PumpSwap high.
Who is Raydium's biggest competitor?
Raydium faces multiple threats: PumpSwap has captured about 90% of meme-coin graduation volume (July 2026), Jupiter routes roughly 80% of aggregator swap volume through Raydium and rivals (May 2026), and Orca led Solana DEX volume with 26.7% share in a May 2026 snapshot.
Could AI replace Raydium?
AI is unlikely to replace Raydium's on-chain liquidity pools outright, but it could commoditize routing and liquidity-optimization logic; Orderly Network, which powers Raydium Perps, explicitly frames its 2026 roadmap around 'agent-native infrastructure' for AI trading agents.
Is Raydium safe to build on or trust with funds?
Raydium has suffered repeated security incidents, including a $4.4 million private-key-compromise hack in December 2022 and a $1.34 million exploit on June 10, 2026, draining legacy AMM v3 pools via an input-validation flaw.
Who owns Raydium?
Raydium has no controlling parent; it is governed as a decentralized protocol via the RAY token and DAO treasury, with early 2021 backers including Alameda Research, Pantera Capital, Dragonfly Capital, and Mirana Ventures.
