The call

Aisino's business was built on a hardware mandate that the tax authority is now replacing with its own AI cloud system, and the revenue collapse shows that transition already underway.

Aisino sells tax-collection hardware and software to Chinese businesses and the government. For years, China's tax authority required companies to buy Aisino's physical devices to verify invoices, which was the main reason anyone had to use the company. Starting January 2026, the government is switching to its own cloud-based artificial intelligence system to check invoices instead, which removes the reason customers need Aisino at all. Aisino's sales have already dropped by nearly two-thirds, and the company has not announced any major new artificial intelligence product of its own. The one thing that could save the business would be if Aisino's smaller divisions in cybersecurity and factory automation grow fast enough on their own to replace the lost revenue, but the company has not shown that is happening yet.

Why
01
AI pressure: State Taxation Administration's AI-driven e-fapiao cloud platform (Golden Tax Phase IV). The tax authority's own AI invoice-verification cloud replaces Aisino's hardware layer, and revenue has fallen roughly 65% since 2023. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: State Taxation Administration (STA). STA is building the e-fapiao rails itself under the new VAT Law, cutting out the vendor that used to sell mandatory tax-control boxes. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. State ownership under CASIC and a large installed base of legacy tax-control terminals still generate residual retrofit and service revenue.

Questions people ask
What is Aisino's biggest risk?
The core risk is that the State Taxation Administration built and fully rolled out its own national e-fapiao platform on December 1, 2024, cutting Aisino out of the tax-invoicing role it was created to fill. As of the July 2026 assessment, this pressure remains intense with no sign of the platform change being reversed, and Aisino's revenue, profit, and headcount have all been shrinking as a result.
Is Aisino in financial trouble?
Yes, the numbers point that way. FY2025 revenue dropped 33.14% year over year to CNY 5,537.91 million with an operating loss of CNY 1,097.37 million, and net income had already fallen from CNY 1,078 million in 2022 to just CNY 16 million by FY2024. Headcount also fell 33.05% year over year to 8,763 employees as of 2026-07-14.
Who are Aisino's biggest competitors?
Baiwang is repositioning itself as an AI-native invoicing vendor and gaining ground on Aisino, while larger domestic software players like Yonyou/UFIDA are contesting adjacent territory. Meanwhile the State Taxation Administration's own e-fapiao platform, rolled out nationwide December 1, 2024, acts as a direct substitute for Aisino's original tax-hardware role, leaving the company squeezed from both sides as of the July 2026 assessment.
Is Aisino at risk from AI?
Not in the usual sense. The pressure on Aisino comes from a government platform replacing its role, not from an AI competitor, and Aisino itself sells AI-based tax hall tools. Its AI-threat status is marked 'not applicable' in the July 2026 assessment, so the real watch-item is the regulator, not an AI product.
Does Aisino have any lasting competitive protection?
Very little. Our July 2026 assessment found little protecting the business: there's no strong lock-in or unique capability keeping customers or the government dependent on Aisino, given that the State Taxation Administration now runs its own competing e-fapiao platform. One partial shield is that Aisino sits inside CASIC, a central state defense conglomerate, which gives it a chance of being renamed the e-fapiao platform's official operator, though that has not happened yet.
What should I watch to see if Aisino's situation is changing?
Two dated checkpoints matter here: whether Aisino's revenue decline slows to below 20% year over year by its August 29, 2026 earnings report, compared with the 33.14% drop reported for FY2025, and whether the State Taxation Administration re-designates Aisino as an official technology operator for the national e-fapiao platform by August 2026. Neither outcome is guaranteed, so both are worth checking directly against the company's filings as the dates arrive.
