The call

DevRev has a real AI support product and paying customers, but it is going two years without a new funding announcement while Salesforce and Zendesk push similar AI agents into the same accounts.

DevRev makes software that uses artificial intelligence to handle customer support tickets automatically, and it has real paying customers using it today. The company's advantage comes from connecting to a customer's own data and learning from their specific business, which is hard to set up, but Salesforce, Zendesk, and Intercom have all launched similar products with their own AI helpers, and they have more sales teams and existing relationships to push them. The big question is whether DevRev can keep customers loyal if the cost of AI keeps dropping or if Salesforce can replicate DevRev's setup work fast enough to win deals.

Why
01
AI pressure: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google model providers with native enterprise connectors. Frontier models adding direct Salesforce/Slack/Jira connectors could copy DevRev's integration layer without DevRev. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Salesforce (Agentforce + Data Cloud). Agentforce is live and selling AI support agents into the same enterprise accounts DevRev targets. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Deep two-way integrations and the private customer data DevRev already holds inside client workflows.
What would change this call
Whether DevRev announces a new funding round in the next 12 months. A flat or absent round after 2 years would signal investor doubt versus the $1.15B mark.
Named Global 2000 accounts publicly switching from Salesforce or Zendesk to DevRev, or vice versa, at renewal. Shows whether DevRev is actually winning or losing enterprise deals to incumbents.
Third-party technographic user counts (e.g. Crustdata) versus DevRev's claimed ~$100M revenue. A persistent gap would indicate the revenue claim is overstated or unverifiable.

Questions people ask
Is DevRev profitable in 2026?
DevRev has not disclosed audited revenue or profit figures. It is privately held and venture backed, last valued at $1.15B after an August 2024 Series A. Third-party revenue estimates exist but come from data aggregators, not company filings, so profitability cannot be confirmed as of mid-2026.
Could AI replace DevRev's own product?
DevRev's business is building AI agents that automate support work, so it sits on the same frontier-model layer it could be commoditized by. CEO Dheeraj Pandey argues reasoning will commoditize but proprietary 'Computer Memory' data will not, a founder claim made in July 2026, not independently verified.
Who founded and owns DevRev?
DevRev was founded in October 2020 by former Nutanix CEO Dheeraj Pandey and former Nutanix SVP Engineering Manoj Agarwal. It remains privately owned, with no parent company, last raising $100.8M in a Series A on August 9, 2024 at a $1.15B valuation.
Who is DevRev's biggest competitor?
Salesforce, via its Agentforce AI layer and Data Cloud, is treated as the default benchmark in third-party buyer comparisons as of June 30, 2026. Zendesk (post-Forethought acquisition), Intercom Fin, and Freshworks Freddy AI are also named direct rivals in the AI customer support category.
Has DevRev raised new funding since its Series A?
No new funding round has been confirmed since DevRev's $100.8M Series A closed on August 9, 2024 at a $1.15B valuation. As of July 21, 2026, tracker stockanalysis.com still lists that August 2024 mark as the most recent disclosed valuation, roughly two years later.
How many companies actually use DevRev?
Technographic detection firm Bloomberry identified approximately 49 companies actively using DevRev's customer portal as of July 6, 2026, skewed toward B2B software firms with 51-500 employees. This is a detection-based sample, not DevRev's full disclosed customer count.
