The call

MediBuddy has the network and insurance ties to keep operating, but its path to real profit is still unverified and richer rivals are already selling against it.

MediBuddy connects patients to doctors and hospitals through an app and website, plus handles insurance paperwork for companies. It built a real advantage by signing up tens of thousands of doctors and thousands of hospitals over years, which is hard and expensive to copy, and AI chatbots cannot fully replace doctors. But Tata 1mg, Reliance, and Apollo are all bigger companies that can spend more money to build similar doctor networks and undercut MediBuddy's prices, and the company hasn't raised new investor money in three years. The one thing that would prove MediBuddy can survive is if it actually starts making real profit (not just accounting profit) while big rivals do not steal away its corporate customers with cheaper deals.

Why
01
AI pressure: ChatGPT and Gemini style health assistants. General AI chatbots could absorb basic symptom checks, but MediBuddy's own CLARA bot shows it's automating that layer itself rather than losing it. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Tata 1mg, Reliance/Netmeds, Apollo 24/7. These conglomerate backed rivals already run competing telehealth apps with far deeper pockets, pressuring pricing on corporate wellness contracts. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. A built out network of 90,000+ doctors, 7,000+ hospitals, and 5,000+ corporate insurance workflow integrations that took years to wire up.

Questions people ask
Is MediBuddy profitable in 2026?
MediBuddy claims its first EBITDA-positive quarter in Q4 FY26, announced May 18, 2026, with an annualized revenue run-rate over Rs 1,500 Cr, per its own press release. This figure is company-claimed and not yet confirmed by independent RoC filings, which typically surface later in the year.
Who is MediBuddy's biggest competitor?
MediBuddy faces conglomerate-backed rivals Tata 1mg (Tata Digital), Netmeds (Reliance Retail), and Apollo 24/7 (Apollo Hospitals), all with deeper balance sheets. As of FY25, MediBuddy's revenue growth slowed to 12.3% YoY (Rs 724.6 Cr), down sharply from prior-year doubling, per Entrackr, December 23, 2025.
Could AI replace MediBuddy's consultations?
MediBuddy already automates triage internally via its own CLARA chatbot, per medibuddy.ai (2024). Low-value symptom-checking is exposed to free consumer AI assistants, but prescriptions, lab logistics, and its 5,000+ corporate insurance integrations require licensed clinicians and physical networks AI cannot replicate.
Has MediBuddy raised new funding recently?
MediBuddy's last confirmed funding was an $18M equity infusion from Quadria Capital, Lightrock, and TEAMFund in August 2023, plus a Rs 70 Cr (~$8.4M) debt round from Alteria Capital/InnoVen in May 2024. No new equity round has been confirmed since, per Inc42 (2026-05-28).
What is MediBuddy's revenue and is it growing?
MediBuddy posted Rs 724.6 Cr (~$87M) operating revenue in FY25, up 12.3% from Rs 645.4 Cr in FY24, per Entrackr, December 23, 2025. Growth decelerated sharply from FY24's more than 100% YoY increase, signaling a shift from growth-at-all-costs toward margin discipline.
Who owns MediBuddy?
MediBuddy, legally Phasorz Technologies Private Limited, is privately held and venture-backed, with no IPO or parent acquisition. Key investors include Quadria Capital and Lightrock India, who led its $125M Series C round on February 24, 2022, valuing the company at approximately $302M.
