The call

Qodo has real enterprise logos and a genuine niche in regulated, multi-platform code governance, but traffic is falling as GitHub's free tool spreads.

Qodo sells software that uses AI to check code for bugs and problems before it gets approved. It used to be one of the only companies doing this well, but GitHub (owned by Microsoft) added the same feature to Copilot for free in April 2025, and now GitHub's version has done 60 million reviews and is growing ten times faster than before. Qodo still has some advantages for companies that need to work offline, use multiple code platforms, or follow strict security rules, but traffic to Qodo's website dropped 29 percent in three months and the company barely hired anyone after raising 70 million dollars, which suggests GitHub's free bundle is winning. The big question is whether Qodo can keep customers in specialized industries or if code review will become just another free feature bundled into the tools developers already use.

Why
01
AI pressure: GitHub Copilot Code Review. Copilot Code Review ships free inside GitHub, hit 60M+ reviews with 10x growth, and sits natively in the workflow Qodo has to plug into. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Microsoft/GitHub. GitHub bundles code review free into Copilot Business and Enterprise, giving 2.4M seats an option that costs nothing extra. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Cross-platform neutrality plus on-prem, air-gapped deployment for banks, defense, and healthcare that GitHub's cloud tool cannot match.
What would change this call
Qodo discloses net revenue retention or enterprise ARR growth in next funding update or press release. Would show whether Qodo grows despite GitHub's free bundle or is losing share to it.
Qodo's Israel job openings and headcount trend in Q4 2026 / Q1 2027 filings or LinkedIn data. Would show if the post-Series B hiring freeze continues, signaling weaker demand than funding implies.
Qodo's web traffic trend in subsequent quarters compared to the reported 29% QoQ July 2026 decline. Would clarify if the drop was seasonal noise or a sustained loss of user interest.
Key numbers
  • Web traffic down 29% QoQ (Jul 2026)
  • $70M Series B, $120M total raised (Mar 2026)
  • Copilot Code Review: 60M+ reviews, 10x growth (Apr 2026)
Named risks
  • 29% QoQ web traffic drop alongside near-frozen hiring despite fresh $70M raise, July 2026. Severity: high
  • Core PR-review value being commoditized by GitHub's free bundled Copilot Code Review. Severity: high
  • ARR, revenue, and valuation figures remain undisclosed and unverified as of mid-2026. Severity: medium

Questions people ask
Is Qodo profitable in 2026?
No profit figures are disclosed. Qodo (formerly CodiumAI) reported ARR crossing $1M within three months of its enterprise launch around March 2024, but no 2026 revenue or profitability data has been published as of July 2026.
Could AI replace Qodo's product?
Qodo's core PR-review function is being absorbed natively by incumbents: GitHub Copilot Code Review passed 60M+ reviews with 10x growth since its April 2025 launch, and Anthropic Claude Code and Cursor Bugbot now ship native review, pushing Qodo to reposition as a verification layer above agents.
Who owns Qodo?
Qodo is privately held and VC-backed, with no parent company or acquirer. Its Series B, announced March 30, 2026, was led by Qumra Capital with angels including OpenAI's Peter Welinder and Meta's Clara Shih, bringing total funding to $120M.
Who is Qodo's biggest competitor?
GitHub Copilot Code Review, bundled free into Copilot Business/Enterprise since April 2025, is Qodo's biggest threat, completing over 60M reviews with 10x growth by April 2026; CodeRabbit, with roughly 140K paid users as of May 2026, is the next closest rival.
Is Qodo hiring or laying off staff in 2026?
Qodo grew from about 43 employees in August 2024 to roughly 135 by July 2026 per Crustdata, but as of July 6, 2026 it had only 1 open role listed in Israel despite a $70M raise four months earlier, suggesting a hiring slowdown.
How much funding has Qodo raised?
Qodo has raised about $120M total as of March 30, 2026: a $10.6M seed in March 2023, a $40M Series A in September 2024, and a $70M Series B announced March 30, 2026 led by Qumra Capital.
