Redox
Redox connects hospitals and health apps to EHRs like Epic through one integration layer.
Redox built real distribution that took years to copy, but a big network alone does not stop regulation and AI from squeezing what it charges for that access.
Redox built a network that links over 12,000 hospitals and clinics together so their computer systems can share patient data. They spent a decade building this, which is hard to copy. But three forces are squeezing them at once: regulators are now requiring hospitals to connect directly to each other without middlemen like Redox, Epic and Oracle are adding their own connection tools to keep hospitals locked in, and artificial intelligence is starting to do the translation work that Redox charges for. Redox launched AI tools in June 2026 to become more like an AI company than a connector service, but only 70 customers tried it in the first three weeks, which is very small. The biggest clue to Redox's real health will come whenever they raise money again or convert a recent loan into stock. If they can get investors excited about that, they probably have a path forward. If not, Redox may slowly shrink even if it stays in business.
AI Assistant Suite user count reported at end of 2026. Shows whether the AI pivot scaled past 70 users or stayed stagnant.
CMS/TEFCA QHIN designation list adds or excludes Redox through 2026-2028. Indicates whether Redox gains federal standing or stays a private network competing with standardized rails.

- AI Assistant Suite had ~70 users post-GA
- 20B+ healthcare transactions handled in trailing 12 months
- No priced equity round since Feb 2021; unpriced convertible note raised May 2025 signals funding strain.
- Core HL7/FHIR mapping value-add is directly automatable by generative AI and agentic tools.

- Investor-placed CEO since Nov 2023 suggests prior governance or performance concerns.
- New AI Assistant Suite adoption modest (~70 users) three weeks post-launch, unproven pivot.

- Redox has not disclosed profitability. Third-party revenue estimates diverge wildly, from ~$51.5M to ~$181M for 2024. Its last priced funding round was a $45M Series D in February 2021 at ~$310.5M valuation, with no new priced round since, and an unpriced convertible note raised May 2025.
- Could AI replace Redox?
- Redox's core work, translating HL7/FHIR healthcare data between systems, is exactly the mapping task generative AI is automating. Redox launched an MCP server and AI Assistant Suite on June 23, 2026 to reposition as AI infrastructure, but adoption was only about 70 users three weeks post-launch.
- Who is Redox's biggest competitor?
- Rhapsody, ranked #1 by KLAS for 15 consecutive years in enterprise integration engines per a May 2026 report, and Health Gorilla, a federally designated QHIN, a status Redox lacks, are cited as Redox's closest rivals in healthcare interoperability.
- Who owns Redox?
- Redox is privately held and venture-backed, with investors including Adams Street Partners, Battery Ventures, RRE Ventures, .406 Ventures, Avenir, Intermountain Healthcare, and Dreamit Ventures. No IPO has been filed as of 2026.
- Has Redox had layoffs?

- What is Redox's AI strategy?
- On June 23, 2026 Redox launched an MCP server, an AI Assistant Suite, and intelligent in-flight data processing, positioning itself as an AI data infrastructure layer for healthcare AI apps. Early adoption was about 70 users in the first three weeks post-launch.
