The call

Riskcovry has real insurer plumbing and paying clients, but a stalled fundraise since its 2024 bridge round leaves its next stage unresolved.

Riskcovry built real software that lets companies embed insurance options directly into their apps, and has connected 40+ insurance companies and signed up 40 big customers. The business is hard to copy because insurance regulators control who can do this, and switching costs are high once your banking app or shopping site is wired into their system. But the company has only raised about $10 million over 8 years and got a $4.5 million emergency loan in early 2024 to stay alive, with no sign of a bigger funding round 2.5 years later. If it does not close new funding in the next 6 to 12 months, the company will either need to quietly make money on its own (which limits how big it can get) or risk running out of cash, leading to a down round or being bought for parts rather than staying independent.

Why
01
AI pressure: None apparent. Riskcovry added its own MCP server in 2025 to feed AI agents insurance data; no AI product yet replaces its insurer integration layer. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Zopper, Turtlemint, or a PolicyBazaar/Acko B2B push. Better-funded insurtech peers and large insurance marketplaces could out-integrate or out-spend Riskcovry for the same enterprise clients. Could a giant copy it? Probably.
03
What protects it. IRDAI licensing plus 40+ live insurer integrations make switching costly for enterprise clients already wired in.
What would change this call
Riskcovry announces a Series B closure by late 2026 or early 2027. Would show fundraising stalemate has broken and investor confidence returned.
Company takes another bridge round or reports a down-round instead of Series B. Would show cash strain and difficulty scaling past current investor base.
Riskcovry headcount trend reverses from decline to sustained growth. Would show renewed hiring supported by revenue or fresh capital.

Questions people ask
Is Riskcovry profitable in 2026?
Unclear. Riskcovry raised a $4.5M bridge round in January 2024 explicitly earmarked to reach cash profitability and prepare for a Series B, but no public confirmation of profitability or a completed Series B exists as of July 2026, 2.5 years later.
Has Riskcovry raised a Series B round?
No confirmed Series B as of July 2026. The company stated in January 2024 it planned to pursue Series B after hitting a $25M/month GWP run-rate, following a $4.5M bridge round led by Morphosis Venture Capital and IIFL.
Who are Riskcovry's biggest competitors?
Riskcovry competes with Turtlemint, Zopper, Assurekit and Symbo Insurance in India's embedded insurance/insurtech infrastructure space. Turtlemint reportedly holds roughly 12 to 15 percent of India's digital insurance intermediary market as of March 2026, per a vendor-adjacent analysis.
Could AI replace Riskcovry's business?
Unlikely to fully replace it. Riskcovry launched an insurance-focused Model Context Protocol server in June 2025, positioning its API layer as infrastructure for AI agents to transact insurance rather than being displaced, while its 40+ insurer integrations and IRDAI compliance remain hard for AI to replicate alone.
Who owns or funds Riskcovry?
Riskcovry is privately held and venture-backed. Investors include Bharat Inclusion Seed Fund, Varanium Capital Advisors and Better Capital (2020 seed), Omidyar Network India, Pentathlon Ventures and DMI Sparkle Fund (2021 Series A), and Morphosis Venture Capital with IIFL (2024 bridge round).
What is Riskcovry's transaction volume or GWP?
Riskcovry's gross written premium processed grew from about ₹100 Cr in 2021 to roughly ₹1,500 Cr (about $180M) in calendar 2023, according to Inc42-sourced reporting, with about 40 enterprise customers as of January 2024.
