The call

Current growth numbers look fine, but they measure contracts signed before clients started building their own AI, and the real test comes when those contracts renew.

Transcom hires people in low-cost countries to handle customer calls and chats for big companies. Rivals like Teleperformance are much larger, and now Google, Microsoft, and other tech companies are selling AI software that does the same job automatically, which means fewer companies need to hire Transcom. The company shows growth right now, but that is old news; the real test comes in the next six to twelve months when major contracts come up for renewal, because customers who bought AI systems six months ago will likely cancel their outsourcing deals instead of signing up again.

Why
01
AI pressure: Frontier generative AI plus hyperscaler platforms (Google Cloud Vertex and similar). Clients now build AI agents in-house to handle routine contacts, cutting out the per-seat labor model Transcom sells. Could AI do the core job? Yes, likely.
02
Bigger players: Teleperformance and Concentrix. Both larger rivals already show client pullback and stock drops as AI substitution starts hitting the whole outsourcing sector. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Multi-year client contracts delay the impact, giving Transcom a lag before renewals expose the damage.

Outcome of the €380M note exchange offer launched Nov 2025. Whether creditors accept extension to 2030 or demand harsher terms, signaling refinancing stress.
Transcom's disclosed headcount in next annual/interim report vs ~25k in late 2025. Whether workforce cuts accelerate, indicating shrinking demand for labor-based CX services.

Questions people ask
Is Transcom profitable in 2026?
Yes on an operating basis: Transcom Holding AB reported Q2 2026 EBITDA (excl. non-recurring items) of EUR17.6 million, up from EUR14.6 million in Q2 2025, on revenue of EUR185.1 million with 5.9% organic growth, per its July 17, 2026 quarterly report.
Could AI replace Transcom's business?
Transcom's core service, routine voice and chat customer support, is exactly what generative AI automates; one industry estimate puts ~40% of routine contacts automatable. In July 2026 rival Concentrix disclosed clients pulling CX outsourcing entirely for in-house AI, hitting sector shares hard.
Who owns Transcom?
Swedish private equity firm Altor (Altor Fund IV) is majority owner, alongside minority investor Gunilla von Platen and Transcom management. Altor took Transcom private via a 2016-2017 tender offer at SEK87.50/share, delisting it from Nasdaq Stockholm by March 2017.
Who is Transcom's biggest competitor?
Teleperformance is the dominant rival, with over EUR10.2 billion FY2024 revenue and roughly 420,000-500,000 employees versus Transcom's self-reported 30,000+. Concentrix (~$9-10B revenue, ~290,000 employees) and TTEC also compete directly for the same CX outsourcing clients.
Is Transcom laying off workers?
Independent estimates from Revelio Labs show Transcom Holding's global headcount fell to about 25,115 by December 2025, down 5.0% year-on-year and 8.1% from 27,341 in 2023, consistent with a 2025 restructuring program the company says completed by Q2 2026.
Is Transcom's debt a risk?
Transcom launched an exchange offer on November 17, 2025 covering EUR380 million in Senior Secured Floating Rate Notes due 2026, aiming to swap them into notes due 2030. The outcome of this refinancing is unresolved and matters for Altor's ownership stability.
