UJET
Cloud contact center software for enterprise customer support and CX teams.
UJET is racing to ship the agentic feature that its two biggest rivals already have, while leaning harder on the cloud giant that could bypass it.
UJET makes software that helps companies handle customer service calls and chats. The company is hard to replace because it has real customers who rely on it, but that advantage is shrinking fast. NICE and Genesys (the big established players) just bought up AI companies to add smart agents to their systems, and Google rolled out its own AI customer service tool in early 2026, exactly what UJET promised to build but hasn't shipped yet. UJET is also getting squeezed from another angle: it is starting to sell Google's technology through Google Cloud, which means Google could just sell directly to customers and cut UJET out entirely. The one thing that could save UJET is if its own AI agent software, coming in late 2026, actually works better than what NICE and Google are offering, and if enough customers choose to stick with or switch to UJET instead of the bigger names.
Google Cloud sells Gemini Enterprise for CX directly to UJET's enterprise accounts. Would show UJET's distribution partner turning into a direct competitor.
UJET raises a new funding round or takes a flat/down valuation after 2024's $500M mark. Would confirm the CEO's stated no-more-funding profitability goal was missed.
- $500M valuation, flat since 2020
- NICE paid $955M for Cognigy alone
- NICE revenue $2.94B, UJET ~300 staff
- Flagship AXO product unshipped until H2 2026 while NICE already owns comparable Cognigy capability since Sep 2025.
- Flat valuation at $500M from 2020 ($455M) to Sep 2024 signals stalled growth versus incumbent scale.
- Deepening reliance on Google Cloud distribution (Jan 2026, Apr 2026) risks disintermediation if Google sells Gemini CX direct.
- No independently verified revenue or profitability; CEO's Sep 2024 goal implies company was not yet profitable.
- Sub-scale specialist (~300 employees, $500M valuation) against NICE/Genesys/Five9 holding ~61% combined CCaaS share.
| Rival | Direction | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| NICE (CXone Mpower, Cognigy) | losing to | NICE acquired Cognigy for $955M in Sep 2025, buying the agentic orchestration capability UJET's AXO won't ship until H2 2026 |
| Google Cloud (Gemini Enterprise for CX) | contesting | UJET integrated with Google's CX Agent Studio around Jan 2026 rather than competing, deepening platform dependency |
| Genesys | losing to | Genesys holds roughly 13% of CCaaS market share versus UJET's sub-scale position as of Jan 2026 report |
| Five9 | contesting | Five9 holds about 16% CCaaS market share; frequently listed as closest direct competitor to UJET in 2025-2026 comparisons |
| Verint (Thoma Bravo) | gaining on | Thoma Bravo completed Verint acquisition in Nov 2025, adding consolidation pressure across the CCaaS peer set |
- Is UJET profitable in 2026?
- Not confirmed as profitable. In September 2024, then-Co-CEO Vasili Triant stated a goal of reaching profitability without further funding rounds, implying UJET was not yet profitable at that time. No later announcement confirms profitability has been reached as of mid 2026.
- Could AI replace UJET's contact center platform?
- UJET's own product is built on AI automating contact center work, but hyperscalers pose a bigger threat: Google Cloud launched Gemini Enterprise for CX with CX Agent Studio around January 2026, offering similar agentic orchestration that UJET now integrates rather than out-builds.
- Who is UJET's biggest competitor?
- NICE and Genesys are the largest CCaaS incumbents; NICE acquired Cognigy for $955 million in September 2025 to add agentic AI orchestration, the exact capability UJET's unshipped Agentic Experience Orchestration (AXO) product targets for H2 2026.
- Is UJET a safe company to join in 2026?
- UJET has about 300 employees as of 2026 per PitchBook, a flat $500 million valuation since a September 2024 Series D, and no confirmed profitability. No UJET-specific layoffs have been reported, but it operates in a fast-consolidating market against much larger rivals.
- Who owns UJET?
- UJET is privately held and venture-backed, founded in 2015 by Anand Janefalkar and Hisun Kim. Key investors include Sapphire Ventures, GV (Google Ventures), Kleiner Perkins, Citi Ventures, DCM, Ericsson Ventures, KeyCorp, IonPacific and Vintage, per a 2026 PitchBook profile.
- How much funding has UJET raised and what is it worth?
- UJET has raised roughly $176 million total, including a $76 million Series D closed September 24, 2024 led by Sapphire Ventures, valuing the company at about $500 million, flat from a $455 million valuation reported in 2020.
