The call

Wingtech holds the paper title to a real chip business it no longer controls, while Dutch courts, Chinese courts, and its own auditor fight over what's left.

Wingtech Technology is a Chinese company that owns Nexperia, a maker of power semiconductors used in cars and other devices. The company's real problem is not competition from rivals or replacement by artificial intelligence, but rather that courts in the Netherlands and China have seized control of Nexperia away from Wingtech's parent company, and Wingtech itself cannot verify more than half of its reported assets. The one thing that could change this is if Dutch courts rule that management acted wrongly and restore control, though this ruling is not expected until mid-2027, by which time the company may already be forced off stock exchanges.

Why
01
AI pressure: None apparent. This company's crisis is legal and financial, not an AI disruption story; no AI product threatens its chip business. Could AI do the core job? Unlikely.
02
Bigger players: Nexperia itself, now run independently under Dutch court order. Nexperia China declared operational independence and now sources wafers on its own, cutting the parent off from its main asset. Could a giant copy it? Probably.
03
What protects it. Nexperia's automotive chip designs and customer contracts still work and earn money, just not for Wingtech's shareholders right now.
What would change this call
Shanghai Stock Exchange delisting decision by end of 2026. Shows whether Wingtech remains a listed, tradeable equity at all.
Auditor issues a clean or qualified opinion on Nexperia financials after May 2026 disclaimer. Shows whether Wingtech regains verifiable financial control of Nexperia.
Dutch Enterprise Chamber mismanagement ruling expected mid-2027. Shows whether founder and parent regain governance authority over Nexperia.

Questions people ask
Is Wingtech Technology profitable in 2026?
No. Wingtech forecasts a further H1 2026 net loss of RMB 400 to 600 million, following a widened FY2025 net loss of CNY 8.7bn (about $1.3bn), up from a CNY 2.8bn loss in 2024, driven by the Nexperia control dispute, per filings reported through July 2026.
Is Wingtech Technology at risk of being delisted?
Yes. Since May 6, 2026, Wingtech has traded as *ST Wingtech under a formal delisting-risk warning after its auditor issued a disclaimer of opinion, unable to verify about 57% of total assets tied to Nexperia. Forced delisting from Shanghai is possible if unresolved by end-2026.
Who owns Wingtech Technology now?
Founder Zhang Xuezheng announced in 2025 he is transferring his controlling stake to Wuxi Guolian Group, a Wuxi municipal state-owned enterprise. By June 2026, Guolian-affiliated entities were already chairing Wingtech board meetings, per HKEXnews filings.
Could AI replace Wingtech's business?
No. Wingtech's remaining core is physical semiconductor manufacturing (Nexperia discrete/power chips like MOSFETs), which is not AI-substitutable. Analysts as of June 2026 note AI server demand for MOSFETs is actually a tailwind, not a threat, to this business.
What happened between Wingtech and its subsidiary Nexperia?
Wingtech lost operational control of Nexperia after the Dutch Enterprise Chamber suspended founder Zhang Xuezheng as Nexperia director and placed the Yuching-held shares under an independent administrator on October 7, 2025, amid a governance and sanctions dispute.
Is Luxshare a threat to Wingtech Technology?
Yes. Luxshare bought Wingtech's ODM/assembly business for about $630m in early 2025, but the deal is now unwinding in Singapore arbitration filed January 2026, and both firms were fined 900,000 yuan each by China's SAMR on May 27, 2026 for improper implementation.
