The call

Annto is a profitable Midea captive chasing an independent listing while bigger, better-funded logistics rivals automate faster than it has shown it can.

Annto Logistics moves goods and manages warehouses for Midea and other customers in China, generating about $3 billion in annual revenue with steady growth. The main risk is that Annto depends heavily on Midea as both owner and customer, and when it tries to win business from companies like JD Logistics and SF Holding, those rivals are much larger and spending heavily on robots and automation that Annto has not proven it can match. The critical question over the next year or two is whether Annto can prove it can grow profitable business outside of Midea, or whether it remains simply a captive part of the Midea empire.

Why
01
AI pressure: JD Logistics (humanoid sorting robots and warehouse automation). JD Logistics is deploying robotic sorting at scale; Annto has no publicly disclosed automation edge to match it. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: JD Logistics and SF Holding/Kerry Logistics. Both rivals already run much larger, better-funded logistics networks and compete for the same third-party shippers Annto needs. Could a giant copy it? Probably.
03
What protects it. Its locked-in role as Midea's internal logistics provider gives it guaranteed volume that outside rivals cannot easily take.

Share of non-Midea revenue and its gross margin 12-18 months post-IPO. Shows if Annto can win third-party customers away from JD Logistics, SF/Kerry.
Net margin trend versus current ~2% over next few quarters. Shows if automation investment race with JD Logistics/SF is compressing profitability.

Questions people ask
Is Annto Logistics profitable?
Yes. Annto reported RMB 449 million net profit in 2025 on RMB 21.452 billion revenue (about $2.96 billion), a roughly 2% net margin and about 7% gross margin, per its HKEX accountants' report filed in 2026.
Who owns Annto Logistics?
Annto is controlled by Midea Group, China's home-appliance conglomerate. Midea's board approved spinning it off in April 2025 and shareholders approved the plan on 30 May 2025, but Midea will retain control after the Hong Kong IPO.
Is Annto Logistics going public?
Yes. Annto submitted its Hong Kong listing application on 27 August 2025 and filed an updated prospectus in June 2026, with H-shares capped at 20% of enlarged capital plus a 15% over-allotment option.
Who is Annto Logistics' biggest competitor?
JD Logistics (about RMB 212 billion FY2025 revenue and roughly 4.1% market share) and SF Holding/Kerry Logistics (RMB 260 to 290 billion 2024 revenue) dwarf Annto's RMB 21.452 billion 2025 revenue and are outspending it on automation.
Could AI or robotics replace Annto Logistics' business?
Not entirely. Annto's core work, warehousing, trucking and appliance installation, resists full automation, and Annto already uses automated sorting robotics. But rivals like JD Logistics deployed humanoid sorting robots in 2025, eroding any tech edge.
What does Annto Logistics actually do?
Annto is an integrated supply-chain provider founded in 2000 in Wuhu, Anhui, managing production logistics, inventory, and delivery-and-installation, mainly for Midea's home appliances like refrigerators and air conditioners, per its 2026 HKEX prospectus.
